I'm confused.

Does this mean yes your allowing more then 3 teams to go? Why does the wcg website say nothing on this? If yes where do we get groups signed up? Where are conference badges? Why wasn't this posted on forums?

Imo most confusing news post ever.

  • It makes it sound like we can all go if we want and compete. Where did you find this? and did you ask Saidin / WCG to clarify?

Found http://www.z8games.com/ (Literally main page) And asking here for clarification silly.
  • Seeing as it was on z8s end and not WCG im going to go ahead and assume that it was a bad communication by whoever typed it and that it is still the same 3 teams only for LAN, but if anyone can go however, I would like to know so my team can sign up if anyone is able to participate =)
  • Even if you guys are allowed to go, why waste your money?

Socks and Carbon are on a different level of playstyle, most you don't understand this, which is why you've yet to accomplish anything and are considered subpar by good players

I quit, because I realized that I've already accomplished more than this community will ever accomplish(i didn't even do that much) and have gone to do other things with my life

I encourage you guys to go though, but i'm not expecting any close games except for socks vs carbon

If you think carbon and socks are "on a different" level, then your obviously lost. Also why does everything to people like you need to be "waste your money" or "you'll never win" Why does everything with people like you have to be, well were #1 or were not playing? Why can't you just play to have a competitive fun time?

This is why people like you, who are never actually considered good, quit the game. Relax please, the only thing you've ever accomplished is coming in 2nd place in a Canada lan. Which we all know is actually the weakest out of all countries for crossfire. So how about you chill out, quit the game for another 2 weeks, and then come back and cheat online again? Ok, sounds good.

go if you want, but don't expect to play like carbon or socks haha

If nobody ever tried to beat socks and carbon they would go to China every year til CF died. I dont expect this to happen. Maybe they have WCG on lock for this year, but there are some very good up and coming teams, as well as some re-building pro teams like Wet Bandits, who may not be the top team right now, but could easily get up there with the right work and dedication. Honestly the teams that go far are the ones who stick it out. Thats why I laugh at all these 2 week teams. If people just stuck with a roster for a solid 6 months they would have a chance to build the team chemistry that teams like Carbon and Socks already have. If teams continue to disban after a few bad scrims and not work through their issues, than yeah nobody will beat Carbon or Socks, but I feel that their are some teams that are on the path to becoming top tier teams right now.
  • Even if teams go to WCG USA this year and lose. They would learn a lot from playing on LAN against some of the best and could be potential top tier teams for future LANS

While I don't agree with everything you said, Ie people have skill caps and a team like Envo will never be as good as a team like Lifeline was. However it has been proven year in and year out that the team who has a good 5 and practices the most will win, this is why every single year since WEM a different team has represented the USA. The team who won it the year before then thought they were top game and wouldn't practice at all, only too be replaced by a team that did practice.
    So few kids understand this.

Well to be fair HT did rep WCG USA 2 years in a row, however it wasnt the exact same 5, but im sure some of the 5 will be there for a 3rd time this year if only 3 teams are allowed to go to LAN. I am not shocked Welfare made it to LAN. Everyone underestimated them, and they still managed to beat teams that nobody thought they could. They didnt beat Socks or Carbon, but they sure proved people wrong.

Edit: and yes I know part of it is Raw Talent, but I think their are teams that have the ability to take on Carbon and Socks. Because over confident teams, tend to make simple mistakes and not care because they assume they are the best.
  • People need to resort to calling cheats on me because I was at one point the best player. I played for LifeLine and beat the CFGL tourney, we lost to Carbon by like 2.

Judging how only the garbage players think i cheated online, I think it's good to call these fellows out. Snipes, and black0ut, including yourself. You're in no place, shape, or position to spread rumors especially good legitimate players that have proved themselves in multiple leagues and LANs.

how about you finally quit the game?

If you "quit" the game, why are you here? You also have never been the best, or anywhere near the best in this game. Is your ego more inflated then Aaron Rodgers?
  • There is no consistent best player in this game. Calling yourself the best is a lie, because it is impossible every game to be the best.

Weren't you the one to always say think positive about your matches, and to never down yourself against a team that you thought was better than yours? Some people want to go just to see friends and relax. If you don't even try to compete against better teams, than how are you supposed to get better, or expect to get "up their their level". The only reason why you "accomplished" so much is because there's like only 4 canadian teams. You talked like you were going to smash kanata in wcg, then you ended up placing close to last, losing to Ehh. You were never at one point one of the best players in this game. I'll give it to you, you were average - above average, but you never were on a level like brando, 15ol, mav, etc. You played with lifeline, congrats. What happened when they went to go play with kanata? You got left in the dirt. I'm sure if you were one of the "best players" in this game, they would have picked you up as well.

    inb4terrorismdoesn'tlikemeandthatswhyididntgetpickedup

Malms put aside his differences with some players in carnage, i'm sure if you were good enough, terrorism would have with you. I don't think you cheated in wcg this year, otherwise you wouldn't have lost to Ehh. But I do think you have that scu.mbag personality to do it.

I may be just an average player, but that doesn't mean I don't know what i'm talking about.

You wonder why terrorism harasses you. Stay in side kid and stay away from communities that don't like you.
  • Anything further can be taken up via PMs. The off-topic stuff that is, thread still needs a response for its original query.
  • Denxi please ask Saidin to clarify the original question in the thread asap =)

You're right. I believe I am confusing the Canadian ones with the American ones.

Please understand that all our information on this is second hand.

I'll confirm and correct the post immediately. I believe it's just the playoffs.

I read that article from WCG too! even u're not on the 4th team playing LAN to go to China. If you pay the money. You can compete with them to get that chance! That is what it said in WCG page.
  • My apologies for the confusion on this.

I confused the format with a similar format to the Canadian ones. Trying to stay involved and on top of things created a bit of an overlap in news.

In addition, with the Escapist Expo having some areas for BYOC and Free Play it was confusing to know what was available for players or not.

We do not control what is allowed and not allowed, for WCG all we do is share news, but most of the news is done in such a way that it's general for other games or other countries etc. So we have to find ways to tune the announcement for our Audience only.

I've got confirmation now though so I'll be editing the posts.

The National Finals Event will just be for the teams who qualified. Anyone is welcome at the Escapist Expo to watch and be a part of the crowds. There may or may not be areas within the Escapist Expo to BYOC or play computer games (there's a console play area and a ccg area). You would have to check with the venue for that.

    Will update the posts immediately.

Why is it only 3 teams this year? top 2 from each are: Carbon, Socks and Socks, Welfare
  • IMO they should have 8 teams go so its an evened out bracket but thats just me

I'm going based on what Ryangi said, I don't know how many teams are going, or what the budget for them is for.

Like I said, we have zero control on the WCG event.

As it is, we get broken news from our sources. We tried to be a little more involved this year by helping push our local TO's and Casters and try to share as much information as possible.

But these National Final events are big and run by the main groups involved with WCG and have no affiliation with G4Box.

All we're doing is trying to spread awareness and news so people tune in, or stop by the booth at the con.

That being said, the announcement has been changed and should be more appropriate.
