Z8Games addresses some recent disturbing news regarding Competitive Partners
Attention competitive gamers!
I'd like to address some concerns I've heard recently between some in-fighting amongst people from OCG and ESG.
Please read the full message below as it contains information about the future of E-Sports and CrossFire and the awesome things we're working towards.
Personal Note from [GM]Saidin
First off, I'm disappointed to hear that there is staff fighting going on between these two groups. The reason why I am addressing this publicly is because certain people are attempting to "trash talk" other groups and gain public mob support by doing so.
This kind of behavior is just not acceptable in a professional environment, and will determine and dictate the course of actions we take as a company to support E-Sports.
Now with that being said, let me give you guys some hints on the types of directions we're headed with E-Sports for the rest of 2013, and all of 2014.
The simple answer is that we're committed to keeping CrossFire competitive and committed to offering up amazing real-world prizes for players who play at the top level of our game.
The future of competitive CrossFire
We're working right now with groups beyond OCG and ESG for major cash prizes. Cash prizes beyond the $500, or $1000 or even $10,000 that we've seen in the past. We want top tier CrossFire competitive play to be worth it for teams to be involved in.
We're looking at major LAN Arena tournaments, combining forces with other groups and creating a E-Sport separate website which will show you who the top teams are, and how you can work your way up to become world renowned in the CrossFire world.
This E-Sport site will also contain community features where you can feature your group, or your event and get it approved for sponsorship or to get on the "circuit" so that TO's can get involved in the proving ground process to get teams to go to the top.
Combine this with continued support for WCG, Tencent's CrossFire Stars tournament and you get a world in which playing CF for actual money and being well known becomes profitable and exciting and amazing!
OCG, and ESG fit in to this roll, we are going to be working with both groups moving forward. One isn't better than the other from our perspective as we are looking to work with both groups.
It is up to you, as the player to look into which leagues you like and join them based on the features and tournaments they run, and join them with their prize payouts and anti cheats and all the other things that goes into making a league. Both these groups run E-Sports for video games, they are both going to be involved in CrossFire and if you want to be at the top of the game making real money you're going to have to go through them to get to the top!
Competitive CrossFire in 2014 is going to be a real thing, but it is only made real by the people who play the game. Our fans, you guys, the competitors.
So as an address to everyone involved, this whole group is great for the game. Regular leagues coming from OCG and ESG are all good. There is no need for staff on either side to "put down" either of the groups. Everyone involved needs to understand that the whole thing is good for the game.
Ultimately, you as a fan, needs to get involved by playing the game, and not involving yourself in petty arguments. And the staff of these groups need to watch their Tournament Organizers and clamp down on the petty bickering.
Play Hard, but Play Nice
So let's think of the future. OCG has their Super Series #2 signups underway.
Then we'll have November / December with some fall/holiday tournaments incoming from lots of groups.
Then we have an epic 2014 planned. And we're anxious to share the final details of what's going on with all our fans. But until then just think of all the awesome possibilities!

This should get them started.
How is my original post a negative? In fact, OCG has taken the high road in many of the situations currently plaguing the community.
The fact that some players, including those posting on alternates. Yes, that would be you Ryangi. Are deciding to make this in to "something" completely boggles my mind.
Are you jealous of the fact that you won't get a chance to compete in CrossFire for real money?
Or are you upset that there is actually a developing competitive scene now in this game? I seem to remember you long ago wanting this kind of thing to happen in CF, now you're doing everything you can try and "bring it down"?
Unfortunately for you, that won't happen. We're pushing forward on this stuff because the people who are actually competing want to see it happen. They want to compete in leagues and tournaments for real prizes. And the people involved can see the efforts of both OCG and ESG being a positive for the game.
I would really take a look at this and realize what the original message is for. It's a message for those people who have been recently involved in some petty bickering to smarten up, and realize that we're all here for the good of the game. And that no one group is "better than the other".
And then realize that we're dedicated to increasing the competition in the game, this is what you (the general public) has wanted forever in this game. It's finally happening, and the most you can provide is a back handed comment about one of the groups involved in bringing competitive CrossFire to the front?
It's unfortunate you specifically feel that way. But I'm confident that the rest of the people involved will get past your negativity and move towards bigger and better things with the game. -
Please do not use the Cross Fire forums to promote the buying or selling of any real world goods and services.

taeyeoNNNNN wrote: »So is it ok for them to post things like Vemma to make money? It is fine that OCG is making a league, which is why I have not been posting anything negative about them until their pathetic attempt to make "Prize money" through vemma. It is cool they are trying to make this game competitive but their approach is unacceptable and should not be an exception to violating the forum rules just because they are running a league.
I'd like to address something here.
Something which is a problem for many of us, myself and CF included.
Public perception here is that someone posts something as an official representative of a company, or group or game.
In this particular example, Purvis posted an idea about getting OCG to work with Vemma, which is an ad company. There is no actual partnership, but the idea is also not off the table. Purvis is being proactive and looking for ways to raise more money for prizes. If there is positive opportunity there they may proceed.
That being said, the thread was caught by a moderator and appropriately closed.
People need to learn that we have official representatives of the company, and comments, ideas, statements etc by people who are not official representatives are just that. UNOFFICIAL.
The problem is the classic mob mentality. Someone just blindly believes a bunch of words said by an unofficial representative for fact and then creates a whole basis of negativity around it. FOR NO REASON.
In the end, OCG is an official partner. And if they want to pursue different ways to increase their prize totals, that's their business. And yes, solicitation for paying services on these forums should be closed off, was it not caught fast enough? Probably. But in the end the correct moves were made. OCG has not stated they are taking this path, and would gladly field constructive comments for or against. Not just pitchforks and torches and angry mobs ****ed about a company trying to generate money through advertizing. (real world) -
Well I'll take these quotes one at a time since they are filled with tons of inaccuracies and things I need to address individually, so it'll be awesome if you could respond in a professional manner to ALL of my information as well.[GM]Saidin wrote: »How is my original post a negative? Well I'm sorry, but where and how did I ever address your post as negative in anyway? Should we both attend an English comprehension class? Because I'm utterly confused by this statement. And I'll get to OCG's "high" road in a bit.[GM]Saidin wrote: »The fact that some players, including those posting on alternates. Yes, that would be you Ryangi. Well this one again, is just a mind boggler. Lets start off with the "alternative" account. I'm not posting on an alt? This is and has been my main forum account (and my main name in every game I've played for 5 years) for around 5 months now, I have made exactly zero attempts to hide myself as Ryangi, and have made it clear in many posts over the course of the months, that I am in fact Ryangi. The only reason I use this is because my ryangi account (who you insist I am trying to hide from) was banned because "Necromancy is illegal" - Whatever that means.
Now I also don't understand that I am in anyway making something of this, now I'll go into specifics later as alot of that has to do with issues in and around other things you have mentioned.[GM]Saidin wrote: »Are you jealous of the fact that you won't get a chance to compete in CrossFire for real money?
Ummmmmmmm? How would I not be able to compete for real money when I've been doing it via wcg for 3 years?[GM]Saidin wrote: »Or are you upset that there is actually a developing competitive scene now in this game? A long time ago? Have you been confused on what I've done in this community? I started the first actual league with a working anticheat system, and we didn't get any handouts from z8.
I wrote the original ruleset, which is still in place today, and used by every league since vsgl. I helped wogl setup all there information, I worked closely with esg on everything competitive when they tried to launch two years ago. I worked closely with Erick and gave him lots of advice on his inaugural season of CFL.
I RAN OCG's first season as the head director after the original director left and had the entire season in shambles with no schedule, no playoff, no brackets, no scores, no reports, half a dead league and alot of other issues regarding the running of OCG. I correctly steered ocg from the brink of destruction on the first season, and made it into a successful playoff run that garnished a partnership from you, z8games. I then went onto ENTIRELY format the Super Series, which you are now promoting so much about, and ran the league for the first two weeks of the season until which I left due to the immaturity of the staff, the poor organizational skills of the "owners" of the league, the refusal to test things before launch, and the horribly malfunctioning anticheat system.
So how in anyway can you say I no longer care for the community at which I have done all that for? And how I am "trying" to "bring it down" - In your words. This in all of your tirade against me, is what just appalled me the most good sir.[GM]Saidin wrote: »I would really take a look at this and realize what the original message is for. Well, finally we do agree on something. Yes people need to stop squabbling amongst themselves, and I have been one of the very most vocal people in saying that Crossfire needs multiple leagues (which was the entire point of me running OCG)
However, I do disagree on your statement that "no "one group is better then the other"" Lets be honest here, after all of whats happened in the past few weeks since I left ocg, can we really say that they have done a great job with this new series? Or that they have taken the "high road" in many situations. If you remember (which I don't think you do, as you've made it clear you didn't know I ran cf for ocg) that ocg was involved in some pretty terrible PR before I came on, they fought with players on the forums, yelled obscenities at them, and just generally acted like asses. Once I came on, I put an immediate stop to it, even going as far as firing another "Director" immediately due to the above issue. But since I have left, it has shown a resurgence. Which you will have noticed from last night's post you removed that had the conversation from skype on it. If you haven't seen it, I can gladly post it here within 10 seconds.
So I left out the last two parts of your statement as really what could I say to those that I already haven't added above. I look forward to your response on this matter. -

Being permanently banned on these forums means you've had to break the rules at least 10 separate times. Or you have had to have your account banned in game from access to the website (usually in the cases of chargebacks, account sharing, or hacking).
My apologies for assuming you were trying to hide. However, I am dealing with OCG and ESG on an administrator level. The first thing that was brought to my attention is that Ryangi was removed from OCG and that he was not happy about it. And some screenshots and some threads of posting of public conversation.
You have to bare with, and understand my position. I don't know the nuances of the drama going on between you guys. However I see someone posting something that should be dealt with in private, in public for the sole purposes of trying to generate a negative response from the public.
What was the purpose of the thread "A typical Conversation with OCG". I thought you had been a part of OCG and taught some of their staff how to act in these situations?A long time ago? Have you been confused on what I've done in this community? I started the first actual league with a working anticheat system, and we didn't get any handouts from z8.
No one is discrediting your resume. But I fail to see how the things I am hearing from multiple people, across multiple chats and even on these boards is acting in a positive way. If you have an issue with G4Box creating a partnership with OCG then approach it as such. Posting chat logs is not going to generate a positive reaction from anyone involved.Well, finally we do agree on something. Yes people need to stop squabbling amongst themselves, and I have been one of the very most vocal people in saying that Crossfire needs multiple leagues (which was the entire point of me running OCG)

The point here has obviously been missed. So I'll have to be a little bit more blunt about it.
Staff members from ESG have no right to be calling out anyone from OCG about their AC, their business or their leagues. And vice versa. I know for a fact that some OCG staff had issues at first, those issues have been dealt with on an administrative level. They had to be, otherwise we would not have contracted and formed an official partnership.
I will also be very clearly blunt about this fact. OCG will continue to be a partner for us as we move forward with competitive e-sports for CrossFire NA.
If people have constructive criticism about a league, or our support of said league then we'd be glad to hear it.
Posting chat logs to show that "your idea wasn't listened to" or that "you had an idea that you think should improve ___ service" to get credit for something or show to your friend that you suggested something meaningful and it wasn't listened to, therefore OCG sucks is not the way to go about business.
Lastly, it should also be noted that we require a certain level of growth and participation in order to be contracted under the service agreement. OCG removing groups, adding groups, doing divisions, not doing divisions etc is all part of the process to work towards that contract. (please note that divisions originally was our idea for the structure of the league given the time restraints and the # of teams we required to meet participation goals).
Your idea might be brilliant, but if it doesn't work under what we require then the idea can't be listened to.
However if you want to present your idea with a basis for positivity and growth, then awesome. But calling their efforts a joke, and demanding that you know better, and then posting a 1 sided chat log about it just seems inappropriate all around. -

Im not trying to draw attention towards myself here but I would like to say something.
As most of the CF Competitive community knows, me and OCG didnt get along very well when they first came into CF. There was alot of useless trash talking that didnt get anyone nowhere, due to a simple misunderstanding. Now, me and OCG have put aside our differences and I'm now working with them to help make CF E-Sports grow.
Its been about 5 months now and OCG has been put through so much by the community, including myself and yet they are still here.
People have always asks for more things such as a league that can run tournaments, large prize pools, an AC, and more. But it seems every time there is something good, some people have to lash out and try to get rid of them.
Im personally excited that CF now has 2 leagues, OCG and ESG. Im looking forward to what ESG has planned as they have finally come back to life.
Lets try to put all of the hate between ourselves away and work together to make something great even better. -

Well lets just start here because there seems to be some huge misinterpretation on your end of why this conversation was posted into the forums. I decided to bunch it all together because it really stems from the same thing and I'd rather not trump over every detail and write an entire research paper on the matter.
First and foremost the reasoning for which the conversation was posted was not to show that my idea was the correct one, or that it's the one that should be used. It was posted to show the complete arrogance, ignorance, and general stupidity that does indeed stem from Evan. (That I was able to mask fairly well while running cf for them) Which I'm determining you saw in said post (I'll talk more on this later) and the reply he had made on a public forum after I posted it - which is the cause for most of the uproar from the community (And honestly, rightfully so)
Now to get into all the details. First I was not removed from OCG, nor was I unhappy with leaving. The only person who seemed to be genuinely upset was Evan, who via text messages and skype, has asked me to come back around 4 times - He also before I left asked if I would like to be contracted and paid to do what I do with leagues. (along with general questions on how to run the league) Now there are many people who can also "vouch" for this on my end. They include Denxi (who helped me run ocg cf) Erick, ZZxq, Polleus, Evan himself, Skype conversations, and even my phone company records. But really, I have been genuinely mature about the whole situation, even going as far as to helping the new director during match times, disputes, and errors that arose (Including this weeks anticheat glitchup where I told him everyone would have to bandicam) But enough about that blatant lie from Evan.
Now to the real thing at hand which is the actual conversation that somehow sparked this entire dispute. I did not pester anyone from ocg about this, nor did I try to intrude to get my ideas across. Evan himself came to me last night on Skype and asked me a few questions on why not having divisions would be better, which I have given numerous times and even berated an ocg staff for having said yes to the division idea with z8 in the first place (yes I know about most of the partnership ideas and what came from you, most of which I said were horrible ideas for an online game prone to dead teams).
After talking with him for some time about them, he decided to ask me to make a list of the ideas I told him about, which I handed him, and then asked him to do the same for why divisions would be better. Instead he decided to attempt to poke a small hole inside my idea for replacement teams which basically rested on "time constraints". I pointed out that the same problem + many more came from divisional setup and asked him to not try to change the subject to something so small and to again (for the 3rd time) come up with ideas as to why divisions were better. He stopped talking for around 6 minutes, continuously typing and erasing what he had written. Until he came up with what he said towards the end of our conversation, and then told me that my "opinion was not appreciated". And this is where we see the arrogance, ignorance, and some form of stupidity I really cant classify here.
Lets recap, he came to me, asking for my advice on why I thought the way I did. I presented him with facts and experience, he could not counter, and instead told me to basically "screw off" and that he was doing it his way. - This really showed his arrogance at not wanting to be proven wrong. Next he told me that he didn't like my opinion or the fact that I had told him about it when he didn't care - This showed real ignorance and stupidity in the fact that he contacted me asking for EXACTLY that. Now can you see why some huge question marks start to appear by him?
And that is why I posted the conversation. It wasn't a private conversation, it started here on the forums, it wasn't sensitive, I was not asked for secrecy or anything. So I was perfectly in the right to post it here. I wanted to show the public that this "man" (hes around 17) was very unstable in the way he thought, and wouldn't take peoples advice. What happened next with what he posted (I won't mention it here, considering it'll just make another uproar, you know what he said) was when everyone else took over, that again, wasn't my doing, but completely Evan's and Evan's alone. And it really showed his true colors.
Ocg could be a fine league, and I originally saw that in them when I was one of the few people who helped them, told people it likely wasn't a scam, and even proved the anticheat wasn't a keylogger or trojan. All the while I couldn't help Evan who continued to lie about things and prove to people he was a total moron.
Edit: And a tad bit edit on the bipolar of Evan I forgot to mention
[9/1/2013 7:05:20 PM] Ryan Girard: nope soryr man, I gave the league its due chance, and it went good for a bit, but then reverted back to what happened before I took over
[9/1/2013 7:05:55 PM] Ryan Girard: I wish you luck and all, but I just don't feel like having my name attached to something that is so poorly done week in and week out
[9/1/2013 7:07:25 PM] OCG CEO - Evan: Alright. I don't think it went all that bad. Just a couple things that need to be fixed.
[9/3/2013 2:05:49 PM] OCG CEO - Evan: It looks like for SuperSeries 2 we wil not be doing divisions.
Just a bit of an add on.[GM]Saidin wrote: »No one is discrediting your resume. Well I pretty much assumed you flat out discredited me with your original statement of I didn't care about the competitive community in this game. As for ocg's partnership with g4, I was the one who ran the successful first season with them to get it. If I didn't want them to have it, don't you think I could have easily tanked the season that spiraled so out of control before I got to it? however as mentioned above, Evan is an unstable person, and while a decent programmer, should not in anyway be in charge of running the league, as its been proven again and again he has no capability for it.
The matter at hand with the staff of the ESG which spawned this original post still needs to be taken up.[GM]Saidin wrote: »Staff members from ESG have no right to be calling out anyone from OCG about their AC, their business or their leagues. I don't have anything to do with either ESG or OCG and have no control over what either of them post, so I don't know what you want me to respond to this.
Super edit: I would also like to know what is happening with his post he replied with and what will be done regarding it. As we both know its pretty insane. So if you would like to pm me about that, that'd be great. -

Actually you're right, thanks for pointing that out. -
I am just getting home from work to receive bits and pieces of what actually happened. I apologize to both Z8Games and OCG for this person's behavior. We do not intend to create a "battle" between ESG and OCG. Both organizations simply want to help further the competitive community here in Cross Fire. There will be a much more strict approach to the behavior of our staff members in order to prevent such an issue from arising again.
-
I just want to say Saidan I'm loving the direction you and your staff are taking towards the competitive side of crossfire, this will definitely attract not only long time players of the game but competitive teams outside of crossfire!
Keep up the great work, I look forward to meeting you in a few weeks at Montreal! Cheers!
just an idea, perhaps Z8 games can go the same way as Valve just recently did and target specific item z8 buys to support cash prizes in the future, I would be happy to purchase zp if this happened, and im sure others would as well
