Can't get up ladders fast enough?

For those of you who don't know this you can hold tab while going up ladders to get up faster. Don't see it being used in streams or videos so I'm guessing it's not known to many people.



+1 for not dying or getting stuck on ladders anymore!

or record your matches and make the cap 80-100.

Tab method works because it lowers your FPS.

There's another technique as well, which can be used in conjunction with holding tab. Face away from the ladder, and look just a tiny bit downwards. Hold S until you start to climb the ladder, then hold S and W.

Holding S and W while facing the ladder will shoot you downwards instead of upwards. It's at a faster speed than going upwards too.

You can have 200+ fps and still go up the ladder pretty quick when you're "tabbing". There's no real need to effect your in-game performance just so you can climb up ladders faster. Plus from my understanding you can get up just as quick if not quicker from this method.

I've tested the difference.. Going up with 20 FPS is faster than going up with 200 FPS.

"Pretty quick" is fairly subjective. Using FPS manipulation, I've been able to launch myself from Port's A site ladder onto the 2 large boxes towards A long, in the fence corner.

Holding tab lowers the game's FPS. It's the FPS drop that causes the faster ladder speed. This is due to the way the game programs player position and player displacement.

Thanks for the explanation, I'm just trying to get players aware of this as it can be crucial in certain situations.
