Went from $999 to $799.

i rather crossfire two 7970s than purchase one 7990 which has poor drivers even updated but that is in a parallel universe where i am an AMD guy.

New 13.8 Beta drivers very nice. 13.6 was a great release too. 13.8 addressed the issue of micro stutter in CF.

Nvidia has already given up the fight and announced cancellation of the GK114 Kepler refreshments for the current year, and AMD decided to take advantage of the situation and release their Hawaii/Volcanic Islands series of chips, which means they will release the products based on those chips by the end of the year.

The new generation of chips, Volcanic Islands, will be superior to the current and future competition from Nvidia, at least when it comes to features according to the latest DirectX standard. Nvidia has canceled Maxwell chips for next spring, which will give AMD sufficient time to prepare possibly necessary responses to future Maxwell for which has already been mentioned that it probably will not support DirectX 11.2.

Nvidia is currently in a bad situation also because the current process of development can not be sustained in the long term, and AMD continues to seriously go further forward with the GPU and APU solutions.

GK114 became GK110. Nvidia never announced such a thing. No one knows if it will be superior to the competition, none of the cards have been tested, so everything is just speculation right now and no one else including Nvidia said anything about these cancellations and delays. So this might just be Bulldozer all over again. AMD's marketing makes the product look bad when it's actually benchmarked against the competition.
