Only time will tell
I see after the 7xx series came out. AMD said nah **** it scrap the 8***. Which I knew would be the case to drop there 20nm chip and show the world a BEAST of a card.
Also the good thing about them dropping this. Is the 7970's should drop in price which in turn I will buy a 2nd one if not a third for tri-fire.

regardless you should wait, the 7970 will only go down in price when that card comes out and if it's a lot better you can just purchase that instead of losing money and paying a higher price. -

The specs are already leaked. -

Nvidia has already given up the fight and announced cancellation of the GK114 Kepler refreshments for the current year, and AMD decided to take advantage of the situation and release their Hawaii/Volcanic Islands series of chips, which means they will release the products based on those chips by the end of the year.
The new generation of chips, Volcanic Islands, will be superior to the current and future competition from Nvidia, at least when it comes to features according to the latest DirectX standard. Nvidia has canceled Maxwell chips for next spring, which will give AMD sufficient time to prepare possibly necessary responses to future Maxwell for which has already been mentioned that it probably will not support DirectX 11.2.
Nvidia is currently in a bad situation also because the current process of development can not be sustained in the long term, and AMD continues to seriously go further forward with the GPU and APU solutions. -
