Veracity - Eulogy (Goodbye)

Feel free to skim, but if you have nothing else better to read on the forums ;)

Introduction

Paying my respects to my greatest virtual accomplishment. Veracity will rise again, I will rebuild it to its former glory and introduce a renaissance of change, but for now that is just a faint dream along the horizon. It will fade as a sleeping giant, waiting for its time to once again emerge and cause terror.

Ironically the person who've I had some of the must brilliant dramas with inspired me to do this, yes that's you Suko. Part of me wanted to avoided this as it makes the disbanding of Veracity "official", which is surprisingly painful. Seeing something you've built from the ground up to return to the dust flat out blows, even if its in the virtual world. During this experience I have met and gamed with some extremely unique, special, and amazing individuals. I've been truly blessed with playing alongside some of the best gamers I've ever been acquainted with and getting to know them better.

History

So Veracity started in late August of 2012. I created it in a public library with no personal computer or internet, but my best man Andy (Ghost.) held the fort down and started to get the name of Veracity out there until September 5th when I moved out and bought my current setup. Within that week we managed to pick up who I believe played a monumental role in the rise of Veracity. Some key names were pRaze, aWm, Latvian, Lotus, Andy (Nasty or the 30 other names he's had) and Darkartz. The combination of contacts (knowing lots of people), skill, and ability to have fun provided a key foundation to build on.

Beginning to gain reputation as a dominant clan, rivalling clans such as WAL and Detox at such an early stage turned heads. Players like Snitch (and others I can't remember) joined on alts and spread the word about us. The BLooD organization soon sponsored us along with Jeden and Phenom and we soon became known as bld Veracity. Adding key players such as Persecute, Vncookie, Legendary, and Jaguar bolstered our s5 and we began competing in several tournaments. Long-time faithful member HuffPuff started doing sweet digital art, which further spread the clans fame.

Soon RandomJr, Spoof, Suko, Dad, Nick, Apollo, John and sooo many others (cant list all, I'm sorry, but you know who you are!) joined expanding the clan to become a large, yet deep and strong core of skilled players.

After departing from BLooD and resuming the name of Veracity Suko led a couple more teams in tournaments and eventually teamed up with me to create a successful Veracity Cup tournament that TriX won. After some dramatic events (aWm retied, Suko/Saint drama/GM team merge-departure) Veracity picked up some new dominant players such as RageTiger, Shehzad, BicNoodle, Dan, and many others (again sorry for not mentioning everyone) we continued to dominate the Clan Server, however new rivals emerged such as fluency emerged, keeping us sharp.

However, over the summer do to my business in July, core members no longer interested in CF, upcoming college, retirement, and jobs Veracity's members and s5 a like began dropping off the map in terms of activity. I wanted to push to the next level, but after feedback and consideration I decided to pursue a team. For now Mindwreck has given me an excellent chance to prove myself in semi-competitive scenarios and I will hopefully advance from there.

Clan Shoutouts

Again, I would like to give some last minute shout outs to clans. First to WAL for being arguably the best clan I got to be affiliated with. Your dedication to CF, underrated skill, and ability to stay active and strong for years in truly admirable. To Dystopia - the new hybrid of Veracity and fluency. In my opinion you are the most dominant pub clan overall and I hope you continue to do so. To #69 who has steadily improved and for keeping my blood pressure high, you guys should keep it up. InTheory for being a good sport even when I was not. Although I still believe your GG definition is incorrect ;). Detox, you suck and I hope Veracity and Detox will resume its bitter rivalry in the future ;) Oh ya, and Welfare for being fun chaps in clan wars.

Player Shoutouts

Also I'd strangely like to recognise Suko for inspiring me to do this. Michael for his comical relief on vent. Iceman for not nuking Veracity in our "incident". DvlSpaz (Thariq) for being a great companion in CF for many years. CowMoo for being a cool friend and handing us our asses in our first tournament (good wake up call). aWm for being such a great mentor. All my serving LTs throughout the months. Zilla, for being so close to me, but never coming to say hi. Anthony for the experience in clutch, (built Veracity similar) and Deezy for giving me a new chance in the upcoming tournaments.

LASTLY A HUGE THANKYOU FOR ALL PLAYERS who at some point wore the orange cat on a black shield on their sleeve. Whether you were in it for a day or the entire year (almost) I'd like to thank you for your time and dedication. Veracity will comeback, you have my word. When we do, I'll ensure that we begin where we left off.

"If you dont stand for something, you might fall for anything. Stand with Veracity."
