Will getting an extra 4GB of RAM help me?

Will going from 4GB to 8GB stop the FPS fluctuations and let me play/record at ~100 fps?

or should I just build a desktop

Well, I learned this from Tori(the actual one), not sure because haven't tried it.

But it will help you with uhm, alt tab will take less time.
your FPS wont go down by a lot in smokes.
and stuff like that. Your FPS wont drop so much while bandicam and sht.

You do not need to record at 100 FPS... nothing requires you to do that... Unless you have a 120 hz monitor and can see anything above 60 FPS... Which you dont.

Upgrading CAN help, but like someone said, its processing power... not memory. 4GB should be enough, especially for Crossfire.

Just save up for a desktop

I will, and the 100 fps is to take in a few drops, shouldve specified "steady FPS above 60"

if your pc can handle 100 with a couple drops, then it will handle 60 steady.

Playing. I get 120ish FPS, with constant drops down to 20/30, whenever I jerk my mouse or flick.

how would i set it to just get 60 fps steady and not 100 dropping down to 20/30
