Are you sure your controls aren't messed up?
Go into the options tab in cf and make sure the movement you're trying to do has D selected -

Do not switch to Windows 8. It is not compatible at the moment. I had many people switching back to windows 7. I don't it would be the difference of windows that will make your letter D work.
well D worked in windows xp
it might be a solution -

CF works fine on windows 8. There was only 1 issue months ago but it has been fixed. I'm playing on windows 8 all the time. -

Just switch your keyboard language to English and restart CF. This should work.
CF is not always compatible with keyboards that use other languages than English and this is why it happens.
Tnx alot dude!!
really helped me -

Lol it does work with Windows 8. Check out that sticky on the tech board if you want an official word about it.
OT: my condolences for your D.
Okay enough monkey business. Maybe it's something within the game files that's not registering the key as it should be.
Wish I could help you further by pointing out the exact file to review... But really I can't because I don't know nor would I recommend it. If you were to submit a ticket maybe they could point out the exact line in a file.
My advice would be to double, triple check via options, even going as far as changing the key then back to D, either manually or pressing the Default button; if that doesn't work then hopefully a clean reinstall?
Ps shouldn't this be moved to tech support? -

I had the same problem , actually till now it still pops out , but mine is a problem in " B, V , Space bar , control " buttons , have searched alot for answers , i found for a laptop once , to remove the battery and restart the laptop , then plug in the battery again , still didnt work :S
Just keep spamming the D until it works , You better do it with some tissue paper and a lubricant , IfYouKnowWhatImean ;D -
