Summary
HMX is an advanced HM gamemode. soldiers attack power starts around 200%+ and continues to rise more the amount of people being mutated. once enough people are mutated, heros will be available to soldiers to wipe out the mutants with.
Beginning
its takes 20-25 seconds till the mutants are choosen. while the count-down is counting down, soldiers scatter around the map until the timers reaches zero
(the count-down box)
Soldiers
Soldiers in HMX have 200% plus damage. what soldiers do in HMX is almost always camping or running.
(getting ready to knife a mutant)
Weapons
Good weapons:
AK-47 Fury/Beast
This weapon does MASSIVE damage to mutants, also a bayonet for killing mutants.
(picture above)
Gatling Gun
Camp with freinds with this gun, no stun on mutants
MG3
you would also want to camp with this gun, it does GREAT damage, but not very accurate.
M1216
this is a great shotgun for HMX, it keeps the mutants away while geting good points
M249 MINIMI (thanks to TheAntiJaJa for reminding me to add this)
this weapon does a heck of a damage to mutants, and keeps them back, but has only two rounds and a slow reload.
Tactics
stand with friends on a clear strip to fire at mutants.(camping)
run around with a pistol and fire at mutants.(running)
Hide, Havoc/Xeno can still see you though (self explanatory)
Heros
Ranger:
a woman with dual axes, does massive damage. some tactics are camping and taking the mutants out one by one, or rushing and stabing and most likely dying. She fights Havoc.
Commando:
Man with dual kukris, just the same as ranger. he fights Xeno
Knifing
When a soldier kills a mutant with a knife, that mutant is unable to respawn, witch is why Fury is a good weapon.(not much to say)
Mutants
You are a mutant, select your form, and go slap people to turn them into you.
Mutant heros
Havoc:
a green big thing, he has quite a range with his arms, best tactic with soldiers is to press "G" and rush. with a hero right click them to death.
(too close for comfort)
Xeno:
a blue electric thing, same as havoc but shot lightning bolts.
healing
standing in one place long enough will start healing you. 1000 hp per 3 secs in this mode
getting knifed
You are dead, you can spectate your fellow mutants with this though.

Also PRO TIPS: (based on my experience)
1. Getting bonus kills
My advice especially on maps where mutants can stack (e.g., PORT) always grenade the mutants when 2 or more start to stack. (e.g., in PORT in A site...)
A. Using mutation grenade
2. How to defeat assassin easily!
Many people do not know this, since only a couple of pro MM/HM/HMX people know it. When the knock-back grenade comes at you, wait until the last 1 second till it's about to explode. At that moment, immediately jump (just press space, no need to go forward or anything like that, just jump straight forward) and the knock-back effects will be cancelled...

Good guide!
Also PRO TIPS: (based on my experience)
1. Getting bonus kills
My advice especially on maps where mutants can stack (e.g., PORT) always grenade the mutants when 2 or more start to stack. (e.g., in PORT in A site...) There are 2 methods of nading:
A. Using mutation grenade
B. (Only applies to HM only > nade them non stop if your hero)
2. How to defeat assassin easily!

But by far the best weapons for HMX are the aks, mg3s, and minimis.

Ill add these -
I think this is the most organised and delivered Hero Mode X guide so far.
HMX (and HM/MM) lover is here and I want to suggest some things that are not in your guide. Gatling gun has no stun towards the mutant so camping alone with the gun will not work effectively at all. You must accompany with someone who have other guns except gatling gun which can at least stun mutants.
Parkour is the another effective way for humans to survive until they become ranger/commando.
