K-Jumping Tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7dJoanYKvk
K-Jumping is a technique people have been doing for quite a while, however apparently not many people know it O.o It's known under a couple different names, I call it K-Jumping because of the similarities to K-Jumping in the game Soldier Front.
It's great to use to sharply change direction while bunnyhopping, you lose practically no speed and remain silent.

I usually just start my hops backward and then turn around, but this might be useful.
Starting hops from a walking position like this is nice, but using it to redirect current hops is smooth as hell, and it means you never expose yourself to someone peaking you. -
I feel like bunny hopping is better. Perhaps you could create a demo of you using it in-game? K-Jumping Gameplay?
The two have different applications, you wouldn't be K-Jumping over and over again in a straight line. K-Jumping is most effective at performing sharp direction changes while bunny hopping, as well as jumping and moving silently onto higher surfaces.
e.g. BunnyHopping along, and you decide you want to go the opposite direction. K-Jumping is a much faster method of starting another hop, while remaining silent, than trying to just turn your bunnyhop. -
can you do this in action?
would like to see what it actually looks like

That's an older demo. At the linked time (10s) you can see how easy it is to swap directions. -
o.o is this a one hop thing or can u continuously do it? o.o cuz the older demo vid i just watched is just 1 jump right?
A bunny-hop (in CF) is defined by you not hitting the ground. You are pressing space before you hit. So while you can K-Jump, Land, K-Jump, Land, K-Jump, Land, etc. over and over and over again, it isn't considered a "hop".
The older demo vid is entirely composed of K-Jumps. It's just me showing a friend. Whenever you here a step it's because I messed it up, but it's all K-Jump attempts. -

okay i see, thank you for explaining -
As others have said, I've been doing this for awhile not even realizing it's a seperate "technique". Just figured it was another gen of the bhop mumbo jumbo that I could care less about knowing the technicals.
Anybody who talks about "gens" of bunny-hopping is a dummy =\
"Oops now I'm backwards, omg that's a gen guys."I wonder if you could Chinese step into it.
Considering that you'd be going full speed anyways, you could just jump.
This is specifically going into a full speed jump from a slow speed, WITHOUT having to use air accel. -
For the derps who haven't noticed like myself. starting a bunny hop with a perfect k-jump actually allows you to bunny hop side to side at a much greater angle in the direction you're going than a regular jump back or jump forward bunny hop. I don't know all the technical details I was just messing around with this in ZM so I was kinda dodging zombies at the same time. x.X

Seems to only work in ZM for me. -

K-jumpin stand for?
Korean Jumping.
It's got nothing to do with Korea though. I'm taking the term from a game called Soldier Front, which has a VERY similar movement technique you can do that is called K-Jumping.Mind telling us what a chinese step is?
Thanks.
Hold a strafe key, then tap W or D while moving.
Technicals: The side to side sound loop has a lower priority than the forward sound loop. This means that pressing forwards while travelling sideways will interrupt the sideways sound loop in order to start the forwards sound loop. By continually interrupting the sideways sound loop, you effectively stop it from every reaching a point where it makes noise.
You can also interrupt it by hitting Walk or Crouch, but using W provides you with the fastest movement. -
i always just hold s and jump back standing while backwards facing the direction i wanna go if it gets me behind cover faster, though it makes a 'step' seems good for certain things though. I always see people strafing while running side to side quickly with very small steps while making no sound, didnt think to apply it to gm.
good tut. -

Also, just know that if you're going backwards already, you don't need to be making a step by running :O
When you'd going backwards in the air, your character gains Air Acceleration. This means that even if you've started the jump from a crouched position (i.e. slow as hell), as long as you're travelling backwards you will GAIN speed, up until you're going full speed :O
So there's no need to be running before a backwards jump/B-Hop :O
