eHostage LAN exp
Our eHostage Lan experience
First. I wanna say, we all had an amazing time. Most importantly we all got their very safely and didn't have many problems doing so.
Day of departure
Donovan aka Swerve left on Tuesday 26th From Arizona to Ohio.
Logic and Luck both left on the 28th.
I picked up Donovan in Ohio, and we drove there on the 28th, getting there early 29th after picking up DREL and Lam from buffalo.
Justin aka gonz left early on the 29th.
Getting there
We had a smooth drive all the way up. We picked up drel and lam very early in the morning, I ran and hugged drel right when I seen him. Just jumped out my jeep, and hugged him. We stopped and grabbed mc donalds breakfast, than were off to the lan.
We got into Toronto about 20mins later. As soon as we got passed customs and the interviews we had to do about why we were coming, all of our phones went blank, and my gps just stopped working. We had NO service!!
We ended up lost in toronto and driving around around 2+ extra hours
Thanks to my boss driving skills, the signs in toronto, and a little help from locals we ended up getting there around, 9am.
Meeting up with the team
Once we finally got into the hotel, parked and were ready to to check-in and meet up with the rest of the people already here (Purvis, Luck, Gonz, Logic ) we were stoked! We got in, found out our room was not ready and decided to just try to walk around and find them. After spending about 20-40 cent's per text we met up with them. Personally for me,
Finally seeing luck after so many years of gaming was the best thing ever. I considered him to be one of my best friends, even before we met personally.

We all shook hands, hugged, joked around about how short I am, and then we were off !

Since we couldn't check in at 9am, and they told us our earliest possible was around 12pm, we decided to go and look at the lan center we wanted to practice at. Before the lan we had little to no practice at all. Tore had to leave 2 days early so we went almost a week with no practice. We walked for about an 1hour down yonge until we found the lan center! We didn't bring our equipment with us because we were just walking around, passnig time, and finding out where everything was in the city.

First, Logic, Luck, Then me. In the back row, all the way to the wall was Justin, and next to him is Tore.
Once we found the lan center, we decided it was time for something to eat. After looking around at foods, and each member of our team being picky when it comes to eating, we decided we would grab some quick "5 Guys, burgers and Frys " then go back, Check in.
We checked in, Drel got his room and we got ours. We all went into our rooms and started to unpack.
Lan center practice / First night
After this, we went to the lan center were we spent most of our first night. ehostage got there before our beloved friend team, SprayOPS.
We scrimmed some echo 8 teams, and were trying to get use to difference. We clicked so fast and started dominating. Sadly once sprayops got there and we started to bo3 them we lost every single map vs them. We played all round 1 maps vs sprayops for practice, (Port, Ank, Sub ) and just got demolished. We realize now how important momentum is for this game.
After that, We all went to the hotel. We had already decided on pizza for Dinner, so Luck, Logic, Ipee, Lam, Drel, Luwii and myself went to go get it.
We left with about 4 pizza's, 3 XL pizzas, 1 LG, Chicken wings, and poutine!
Day Two(2) / Lan
We woke up, Early ( for no reason lol )
Our day pretty much went like this.
-Woke up early
-Skipped breakfast
-Went to lan center
-Watched/help things get set up
-Hours later, checked in
-Started playing a little to practice.
-Watched two other teams play before we had too.

This was our match. The reason we came, our momentum, and our hunger was shown in this. We were so confused on map choices we wanted, and what we wanted to ban. Half of us thought we wanted to play port, others wanted to ban it.
When it was our time, Slant and I came up, Shook hands, rock paper siccsored for who bans and if I remember correctly, he won and banned Sub Base. (I think ) We decided to pick and we picked Port. They won another r/p/s and picked GR first. Once they heard it was port, they were so stoked about it, which I was not so that made me a little nervous, but I had some confidence in my team.
First round set the whole mood for us. We knew how wotip plays from tons of echo8 matches, and we knew how they would hold their A/B set ups.
As we didn't have ANY Practice, we lost 3 maps to sprayops the night before, and most of us were nervous and scared, I decided to call an EASY fake. I sent tore long a,
and we all naded b. When they heard the nade the instant rotated and we took long SO fast. We got A long completely without being touched !
We ended up winning an amazing match against them.
This match was LOSER buys dinner, we were never awarded dinner
All jokes aside, SNSD were a great group of guys. I personally talked with Slant a little more then the rest, and slant is such an amazing down to earth guy, and really strong at Cross Fire. He's been around for a long time and really impressed with his b holds and retakes. He's also got a GREAT mindset for Cross Fire and wasn't fazed at all by losing.
Rest of the day matches
eHostage v SNSD [win]
eHostage v Web Gaming [Lose] -was a good game, we went 0-4 CT side, then I changed it up and we won out 7-5, however our password was leaked and we had to restart, I personally think that killed momentum for us, but was still a great game, good players !
eHostage v Escape Artist[Win] casual players, great group of people.
eHostage v agnBreakout[Win] Sick team, lots of potential, loved playing em
eHostage v aeonk[Lose] Great team, amazing guys. We were so burnted out by time we played em, but they gave us a good run. Thanks for playing us guys !
Last day for us together
This was a great day. We slept in a little longer so thats ALWAYS good.
We met up with logic before he had to leave. Logic is such an incredible friend, and team mate. We literally almost cried when he left.
We walked around, Got breakfast, Bought some Glasses, and a Hat's. We ate so much on this last day!
We decided to look around the city more, We took the PATH (which was not as cool as we thought, nor was it even really open so we just walked through ) We went to the EATON center mall, walked around and shopped a little.

then we decided to take a sub way (most of our first times, really neat ) back to the hotel. We got back to the hotel, hung out for a bit. We wrestled around, got on gonz laptop, chilled, made jokes, and we were back out on the city. We decided to go get some THAI food from around the corner. I ordered SO much food, I ended up letting tore smash most of it. I had some great calamari tho!
After that, we again were back to the hotel. Some hours later, we decided to go to the net cafe lan center once more to play. We packed up for that, but by time we got there, it was PACKED so we didn't get a spot. We instead went to the korean BBQ (lol more food )
where we got to make our own foods.
After that, it was pretty much our good-byes.
Drel, Lam, Tore and I were leaving. We said good bye to luck and justin, gave our hugs and just like that, were gone and lost in Toronto again about 10 minutes later.

Just to add my experience prior to meeting up with the dren (Quick Summary)
-Flew from philly to toronto and got to the hotel around 9:30
-Met up with Brad Olsen because logic and his dad were still asleep
-We chilled by the harbor for a bit then logic woke up and we chilled inside the hotel lobby and walked around
-Looked at the Ballroom(where the lan center would be held) and then checked out the gym
-Talked to Donny multiple times cuz dren and him were lost in toronto for a bit
-Met up with Dren and Donny -
