[CFL] Launch season playoff format

Hello everyone,

I'm happy to announce today how playoffs will work for this season of CFL.


The top 8 seeds will advance to a double elimination tournament bracket.

All matches will be a best of 3 at 7 rounds per half.

Each team will get to exclude 1 map they do NOT want to play out of a list that will be posted when the time for playoffs come around. Each team will also get to pick whatever map is left on that list for their map choice.

A Tie breaker map will be selected by CFL Staff.



WE WILL CAST AS MANY MATCHES AS POSSIBLE.
Semi finals and finals matches will need to be confirmed with us also, we want to find a schedule that will be best for us and both teams.

I can also confirm now all 8 of these teams will be invited to play in our Pro Division. More information on Pro will be out sometime in the near future.

You said the 8 top teams will be invited , I though the 8 top teams will be the teams that earned the most point in this 1st season ?

With 30 teams in the league, I think 16 teams should be the number. Just my opinion

With 16 teams that creates 5 weeks of playoffs

The problem is it cuts 3/4 of the teams when you only play 1/4 of the teams.

Not if you do more then one match a week, which imo it should be.

5 weeks is perfect for playoffs

We want to keep playoffs in the 2-3 week range honestly.
16 teams would really limit that i feel.

But i see what you mean with some of the teams getting cut off. But i'm almost positive the right teams will still make playoffs.

2-3 is so short but I guess it's only the launch season.

for playoffs? not really.. I don't think we're going to do 1 match a week for playoffs. This will still be discussed.

Well imo I think it's pretty short compared to any playoffs I've seen or played in.

I haven't played in any that have lasted longer than half of the regular season lol
