CFL update 2/20/13

Hey everyone,

First off we would like to say we're running behind with the standings. Everything should be updated tonight. I've been busy the past 2 days and we should be back on schedule now.

Same thing with the schedule tab. I have to go through every week and find what team is missing and what team has 2 matches. (the program i used to make schedules BLOWS)

Any matches that were suppose to be played last night need to be rescheduled(if there were any) due to the crossfire outage.

We are currently in the process of making a ban chart. It will have all consequences for first, second, third offenses, ect.

Dren and myself are currently talking about doing something for the EU side of the competitive scene. We don't want to say much yet, but i can tell you we at least plan on doing some sort of tournament to see what the EU side is like.(We don't know exactly how active it is)

This is all for now. Look for our weekly update thread on Sunday night!

  • Why setup something with the EU side of CF when the NA side isn't fully functioning yet?

And I doubt the eu competitive side is very big. Isn't it just the uk and turkey?

it might not be big thats why we're still trying to look at everything.
  • Try to improve and make your "league" much more professional and organized as there is always room for improvement. Try working the NA scene and craft it into something much better than it is now instead of expanding into something like EU.

You don't have to be polite. You could just say **** Europe, I'm sure that's what you wanted to say. If everything goes well with NA then it would be great if you could give us some competition.

I totally agree, There is so much more that you guys could do to better the league instead of expanding.

If I was in your situation, I would prefer if everyone who enjoyed this game got competition, rather than one side getting really good competition and the other getting none.

All around the world Crossfire is blooming and becoming a much more viewed and played game worldwide. North America Crossfire started off decently for the first year or so. However for the past 2 years or so, the community has been in a huge slump or depression sort of say.

This league is starting off great and I hope they will continue to help improve the North American Community, as this seems like the only thing that can really push it at the moment. We as the North American Community must catch up to the world in terms of maturity, competition, and number of contenders if we hope for to play this game at a higher level constantly.

We are extremely unstable ourselves and this hope of Crossfire can yet again be wrecked like several occasions in the past. How can we extend a helping hand to a community that for one doesn't have a confirmed player base.

North Americas community was always decent, maybe now it's bad but the Europeans community was always kinda bad and now it's non existent. Our problems are worse and confirming our player base is exactly what we're doing right now. When we have a community and enough UK players, I'm hoping that we get WCG UK.
  • we aren't saying we're expanding right at this moment. I'm saying we're talking about doing something in future. We say this now because we want to make sure everything is good before we do expand. We don't even know if we will. The first thing we would do is just run a straight up tournament to see the turnout and go off of that. I can say running a tournament is WAY easier and WAY less time consuming then a league.

Everything should be u pto date by tonight. I have an important csgo match and i will get everything done after it.

If there is no competition for the EU players, then there really isn't much left to do.

Players from EU should get a chance to play competitively as well.
  • Hiya~

So, if you guys got any suggestions on what we should improve let us know !!

As for the league right, things are running smooth. Yeah we had a late day because it is Ericks birthday (happybday)

We know not to bite off too much, but at the same time we want to give everyone a chance to compete. This is why we were talking about just doing a small tourny for the EU side before we introduce an actual league !

Nothing is final, it's all just talk that we're doing !

That's a great idea. It will help determine if the communities worth saving.
  • Yeah, I do see ISnipeFast's concerns tho. I'll discuss this with erick, david and saidin and see whats the best for everyone right now.

That would be good. I understand that Ayrin wants to improve the NA competitive community which is good of course. I just want the UK servers to actually have a competitive community.
I hope they will continue to help improve the North American Community

If you guys need time to stabilize the community then that's perfectly understandable and when you're ready we can work for the community in baby-steps to make it eventually happen.
