Delete unused accounts
When a game comes out, the first people to play usually get all the good, simple one-word names.
Most of those people see a new game, try it out, then quit.
It happens, people try new games and don't like them and I'm fine with that.
However, I feel like all those trainee accounts who haven't played for a couple of years should be deleted.
Let's face it, they aren't coming back (and even if they did, chances are they have a different email or don't even remember the login and would probably end up making a new account) and are only preventing others from using a lot of good IGNs.
So many times have I searched for a new IGN only to find out it is taken by a trainee who hasn't played since 2010.

Have you tried contacting support with a purchased Name change item to see if they will manually change it for you?
I'm not suggesting this because I want an IGN change( at least not at this moment ), but as a general suggestion.
Sending a support ticket works, but I don't see why they don't just delete inactive trainee accounts that haven't been used in a long time. -

Agree , just use a rule sth like a account will be delete after reaching an amount of time. -

I think that his would be a very good idea because i suspect that alot of people do not know bout being able to contact support for a name change.
Like me for one when i want to change my name i would search to see if the name was used, but it never dawned on me to contact support because i figured that if the account was made they wouldn't change it in case the player decides to play again. -
I don't see the point of deleting them at the moment. If you really want a name, you can send a ticket to support, just like 9 suggested.
Also regarding the one lettered names, you can't get these now, even if you ask support. There was a patch, a few years ago which stopped this. -

I never said letter
I said one WORD names, because nowadays it's difficult to make an IGN that is one word or isn't full of numbers. -

Ah, I assumed when you said word, you meant letter, sorry, ha.
I'm still unsure about it, but they'll be wiping a lot of accounts out, I'll probably just add a plus 1 because it's a good idea. -
Why not instead of deleting the accounts, just re-assign them a different In-Game ID like a number such as 3827193. That way the after a certain period of time if the person is say inactive for maybe 1 year or more, the name on the account has now been changed, or make it that it changes if the account has been inactive for a year, when you buy a name change the database is searched if there is someone with that name who hasn't been on for a year and you want that name it automatically gives you that name and assigns them a random number or your old name.

Don't delete the accounts, i quit cf in 2010 (both main and alt) and came back in summer of 2012. I would've been ****ed to find out my accounts were deleted because I was inactive. It would be better to reassign the IGN's of those that are inactive for over 2 years (that is if someone wants their ign)

It's more possible for them to change the ign to something different such as a set of numbers and they have done this, E.G: someone has a bad name ( dirty worded name) such as big-insert vulgar word here-427 or -Insert Vulgar word-You427 when this is reported or when a Moderator sees this in-game they have the ability to report and have this name changed to a name such as badname32092. So it's more likely for them to change the IGN, than to delete Crossfire accounts, we have 12characters as a limit, which means a possibility of 999,999,999,999(not including the commas) 000232392382 Is a valid IGN, ranging from 000-999999999999 are all available IGNs for inactive accounts or labeled Inactive1,2,3,etc. This is a more beneficial option to many players than just deleting peoples accounts, not even knowing the circumstances they are facing as to being the reason they haven't been active for such long periods of time.
