I'll do you one better, I'll tell you how it works.
For just under half a second when you start strafing, the sound loop does not play any sound. This means that by interrupting that loop and forcing it to start over, you can continue to move without making any noise.
You can interrupt this loop via the following:
Tapping shift
Tapping crouch
Tapping forwards or backwards
Tapping forwards/backwards is the hardest to do, but it means you have the fastest movement in comparison to tapping shift.
If you are having trouble, know that moving forward has a very brief moment of noise delay at the beginning. However, this delay is MUCH shorter than when moving sideways. In order to properly tap forward and not make noise, you actually have to tap the key. If you stay holding W for a bit too long, you trigger the forwards sound loop, and make a step.
I'd recommend learning the interrupt timing with Shift, then trying to do it with W.
EDIT: Btw any previous SF players, this means that yes, it is possible to K-Walk in any direction in CF :O -
