Is there any benefit?

Players who switch to knife after every AWM M700 shot?

I even saw the vid of a player using an M4A1 switching to knife between shots?

What is the benefit of that if any?

Like this..

  • Well when sniping people use the crosshair of the knife to line up their next shot. Instead of scope in the dark. The M4A1 is beyond me though, maybe just habit xD
  • Quickscoping? Yes.
Its kind of like a habbit xD
it allows you to see a wider range then if you shoot and it just doesnt go out of zoom.
  • Gona try It

    After work today.

    I always set up 2 V 2 Train Sniper 40 kills.

    To practice my sniping.

Im going to give it a go.

Im not showing off but I can no scope pretty good with my AWM.

It helps when players come into my room just to knife and not even try to snipe:)

I hate that and when the players just wants to glitch.
  • i used to do it, then didn't use my awm for a while and keep forgetting now. but yeh its useful for jumping out of situations.

    Quickswitching is not QuickScoping.

Yes i meant to say quickswitching, sorry i need sleep x)
  • Sensitivity has nothing to do with doing 360s.

I can't really tell this person's nickname, but busted.

That was random...Did you mean to post this in the Bunz thread? xD
  • lol

Comment was for a different thread I think:)
  • For sniper is self explainatory. As for guns, here is my explaination
    -Habit , most importantly
-For me personally it gets me pumped up and keep my reflex in a higher level cause i'm just swing the mouse.
-you move faster with knife, so you can pull back into a corner quicker

yea broah ...im a quick scope and I love switching from awm to melee.

Heres how it works to go a little bit more from what headshot said...when the target enters the scope you fire -->switch do this very fast , at the same time to reduce recoil from the awm and the next shot will be more accurate cause of the crosshair from the knife. Sniping normal without switching is slow and not accurate ,well for me and loads of awm recoil when u quick scope the recoil seems to go away. well hope it helps .
  • im lazy so i want to get around fast, thats why i switch to knife :P
  • blah,

i dont switch to knife unless i need to
    a. Knife some one.
    b. out of ammo.
    c. run faster when starting out a round.
    d. Am sniping and do not think i can get the next shot due to ether multiple baddies or other interferance. switch to knife, run like hell, then rescope.

I GUESS i can understand people using the knife crosshairs to line up their next shot. but i am so used to playing fps i got a pretty good feel of where the center of screen is. ive gotton ubreakables with awm all with out switching to knife,, seems like it would funk up my ?rythem? if i switched from sniper then back.

    yes my bad
  • bah im too cool to switch to my knife

i rush with my awm and it sometimes works :D
  • Switching to a knife even with M4A1 isn't just a habit.
It's just about bullets being extremely accurate in first 3 shots.

  • Switching in between a sniper and secondaries has been done for a while, makes the shots after come out faster and in better fashion. You would see the difference much more in CS/CSS, even AVA. Switching in between rifle and secondaries is usually just a reflex people might get from sniping, its not very useful, usually never even recommended. Switching with a rifle does in a sense sort of reset the spray pattern which lets you take control of it in some situations, but usually it is better to not switch. During the switch the enemy can take advantage of it.
  • If long range/medium range I will quickswitch between m4 and knife mianly because gun cools down and shots go more accurate, easier for headshots. It got it as a reflex from AWP, as switching to knife and back to gun is faster than waiting for scope to zoom back in.

oh wow crazy headshot madness, i can imagine the amount of hacusations she gets...

and i basicly think quickswitching is a matter of preference, i dont like it because it makes the ROF kinda slower

but other people like it cuz i guess the knife makes you get dodge faster
  • Switching with a normal weapon because "it cools down", "it resets the crosshair", or "the first shots are more accurate" is a load of balogna.

If you need the gun to "cool down", the crosshair to "reset", or the first shots to be more accurate then you can do something very simple...

    ... stop shooting.

I can single shot my AK and have the crosshair not move. I can also put shots on top of shots. If you never fire fast, the gun never gets too hot and they usually cool down quickly. I can also 1-K people from a good distance on the last shot of my magazine, and I frequently do.

If you really need to reset the crosshair, you can just reload...

However, I can be considered someone who switches to a knife after a scope shot. The main reason is that it is force of habit. PLaying CS, other players are usually good enough that if you miss the first shot, they will hit you. Once you start getting hit, it is hard to move and you can rarely escape death if you keep trying to run with an AWP in hand. So, since a knife is way lighter, you can fire, switch, then many times jump to cover before the other player has time to react successfully.

Against another scoper, the shot then quick move can be a life-saver, as many times when a shot is fired the person being shot at instantly knows where you are. It can be vital to move quickly.

I can buy the crosshair trick, as the knife crosshair is always closed, but anyone who plays FPS a lot instinctively knows where center is. I also have another trick up my sleeve, and that it when you aim at someone their name shows up.
I'll sometimes get random kills because a name popped up just over a ledge, through a crack in a door-way, through a box, or even just off in the distance. If I see a name, I shoot at it, and a lot of times it leads to some interesting hackusations. The secret to no-scoping? Wait for the name...

Since you can enter scope relatively quickly, it can just be a form of rapid displacement. Shoot, switch, move position, scope, shoot, etc...

It can also be a means of distraction. If I shoot, jump, shoot, jump, then shoot, what is the next move? A jump? Maybe, maybe not. With me, it may be hard to predict, and while you are aiming high for me to jump I might crouch in place and fire one off while you're confused...

Many people don't switch weapons, or they do every time. Sometimes I'll switch, and not switch back. I will sometimes bunnyhop instead of running, I'll sometimes run instead of bunnyhopping. I will sometimes jump without switching.

Predictable people get shot, I am not predictable.

In usual circumstances, I only use the knife to get a petty kill (unawares idiots), revenge kill (stupid AWPer in the corner never moves, here comes hardcore flank in face action), when I run out of ammo, or to move fast. Usually, I move fast with my pistol, however, so the knife rarely comes out. In scopes only games, the knife sees more action as I use it for close range defense/attack and for rapid transit, as well as being unpredictable. plus, it is handy to jump up to interestingly placed objects and ledges...
