Server Side H4ck detection

Hi Folks!

According to the cheating situation, i would suggest something to Z8 and hope u guys feel the same...

Im aware that z8 only (?) resells the programm, but as a licenced partner, they have a big influence on the product.

Instead of manual banning and relying to xtrap, there could be more done to make cheating harder.

What about some server side checks? I think about easy to realize checks, like for example:

Boss kills in ZM. If a boss gets killed within a certain time (lets say 2/3 seconds) game should be saved automatically and the dude shooting the boss should get reported instantly. Nearly no servertime neede for that....

Speed values: randomly checking of speed values on players. Whenever your speed value is above normal (faster than falling from a ledge for example), save and report....

Fly hacks: Defining invisible "no go areas"... whenever a player gets to this area, save and report

Fancy room names: u create a room with a fancy cheatrelated topic (dont want to mention the actual string here) save and report the INITIAL creator of this room.

All these things can be done serverside. It wont take much efford to implement them, but will get a lot of those nub cheaters in serious trouble.

So please, Z8, use your power to get the producers to implement some of these suggestions.

This would really improve gameplay and will in the long term make crossfire a better ploace to game and raize your profits.

I know a lot of ppl who stopped buying zp because of the cheater flood, and some are already thinking about to quit the game.

You wont get all h4cks with this, but when u implement some of this, you can make it harder for the script kiddies.

Aswell, ever thought about implementing a MAC Adress ban? That would be a nice way for banning players permanent. Just check at login and at random times the MAC adress of a user. Implement the function to the client, and tranfer the info cipherd in the datastream.

That would eliminate lots of the "i just create a new account then" nubs.

Whenever the mac adress is burned, bad luck for this computer then.

Maybe some point worth thinking about?

Regards, DerZelter
