Longer password!

I think you should make so I can have a longer password. 12 Characters is too ******* I want 18 characters for it to be safe.

Why? You can make a strong password with 12 characters as well. If we would make it longer, we would get more people forgetting their password.

If you are dumb to forget your password just make it 5 characters. That you can easily remember.

I'd personally like longer password as well to keep my account more secure.

People's accounts aren't less secure because of a 12 character password instead of an 18 character password. They are less secure because it's used by numskulls that do stuff they shouldn't. Like trying to trade/share accounts, fall for scams and give out info, or download questionable software that puts their account at risk.

Twelve characters is already enough... if you can't make a password secure enough with twelve characters, you should be more imaginative.

Anyway, as long as people don't know your login ID, you should be fine, so that adds another security check.

That is another story which has nothing to do with length of the password but with players idiocy to fail to protect their accounts.

18 letter password is harder to crack than 12 letter password. Simply probability.
However, the marginal benefit is pretty low so why bother?

Both are impossible to guess if they are truly random characters.

The length of a password only matters against bruteforce cracking attempts.
A bruteforce attempt requires lots of know-how and work to do so they rarely used (and a mmo account is a very small reward for the risks involved), instead it much easier to break peoples security question to claim the account and email. If you're security conscious, lie in your security questions and better secure the email you used.

Just counting alphanumerical characters, there's 62 different characters you can use for each space, and a password of 12 characters long has a total of 3.2x10²¹ combinations.

Is there really a need for 18 characters? There are plenty of options from just 12 characters, and if you're really that worried about your password security, use both caps and lowercase.
