Changing Files - MODs please read!

I've been wondering: can someone increase his rank/customize chars/etc by changing the place of the files? (C:\Program Files\G4 Box\CrossFire\rez..). Just like changing the kill marks and sounds.
I mean, is the account information saved somewhere in your pc, or is it saved in CF, in a replay for example? Like, when I first played CF there was already a replay saved on "Replays", but I cant watch it, so I wanna know if that's like a "checkpoint" or a code to know the items/weapons/chars you have.

for example get what you want to look like new cloths w.e find the file corresponding to which character clothing you want to change from and just rename your new look to the same as the old look file and replace it with the new one
C: > program files > z8games > crossfire > rez > UI

all the folders for changing cloths and blood effects etc r in there

plus back up your old ones incase you dont want your new ones and this is only visual to you no1 else can see what you have changed and you actual rank will stay the same but to you it will look higher or lower if you want it to look lower

it would only change the ranks on the client side, not the server side. it likes the kill marks.

Oh, so if I paint my weapons pink, people won't see, only me?

And my other question was..
If for example Rozer has a Golden AK and I want it. Is the "information" of Golden AK saved on his pc, or in CF? Because if the information is saved on his pc, I could get it for me (just like the kill marks). But that's just a question.

Anything as far as function and play inside the application CANNOT be altered, as the games information is stored on their side (G4Box). The ONLY altering you as a user may do are; Audio & Visual.

The brunt of the information that fluctuates between users; Rank, Stats, Weapons, etc... (things in which you earn or purchase day by day) are logged, and stored on the G4Box Server. We as users don't actually get the files upon download. We only receive, a I stated the Audio & Visual files, on top of the interface to access the server...making the game playable.

If we were to ACTUALLY receive all the files that make this game playable, MOST computers couldn't handle it. What matters MOST in this situation (gaming) is your Virtual Memory/RAM. The Physical Memory space required is ONLY for the containment of the interactive files we need to make the game function-able on our end. So if you EVER wonder why game speeds and play are slower on your end, it's due to your shortage of RAM. Upgrading your processors usually ease those issues.

Answer anywayz..

you cannot edit any gun information
its all locked away and cannot be editted

but you can technically edit your rank
just it will inly show up for you

my basic knowledge is that if u change A file then only the 1 who changed can see it that way no 1 else can though if people have the same gun theirs will be pink too so if i want them to see ur gun pink u have to get in the server and change the files there good luck with that m8

like i said its only visual you can only change the skin colour of your weps but if u wanted the actual ak gold then you would just have to get 100 coupons for it XD

The AK Gold was just an example.
