Put same weapon in 2 different bags

Put same weapon in 2 different bags does not work. When I put my main weapon in one bag it does not stay there when I put it in bag 2. Am I missing something?

You can't put the same weapon in 2 different bags. The reason there is a bag system is that you can take more than 1 weapon with you to battle, it would make no sense to have two identical bags.
So no, you're not missing something, you just can't put the same weapon in two different bags.

Of course when you place the same weapon in two bags it wouldn't work. Take an M4A1 for example. If you put it in bag 1 it'll stay in bag 1. However if you try placing the SAME M4A1 in bag 2, the gun will be switched from bag 1 to bag 2.

If you purchase another M4A1, then yes of course it can be placed in both bag 1 and 2 since it's two guns.

Actually I do sometimes. I own two of the same reg ak47s and I sometimes place them in two different bags just to try and break them both, same thing with my reg m4.

If he doesn't have any expanded grenade slots, only wishes to use one gun, and hesitates between his grenade and flash (especially for SD), he can get to choose this way, depending on the strategy he'll use during a round.
