Ban System Suggestion

Saving replays and reporting hackers are a great option to improve the game. However, replays can't really tell if someone is using a "see through wall" hack. Therefore, I think Z8games should try to add a hack detector similar to XTrap, which possess the function of taking screen shots randomly during each game. Then XTrap would automatically upload those pictures during the end of the game.

As a result, those hackers wouldn't be roaming freely in games anymore. If someone gets reported for wall hacking, Mods/GM could check the screen shots took on the account during the specific time. I would also recommend Mods to check through everyone's screen shots if they have spare time. I would highly recommend this option, and I know the server might not have enough space to fit those screen shots, but I believe we should at least "try" to get rid of as much hackers as possible.

Thanks for your time.

    sorry about this, although i don't find much people viewing the suggestion part.
  • Even though we can't see the actual hack at work, the people that are reviewing replays are trained to spot typical hacker behavior. For example, a wall hacker will track a player through a wall, and we can see that behavior in the replay. If a wall hacker keeps shooting at people before they turn the corner (pre-firing), then this tells us he can see his target through the wall. If in Ghost Mode a player keeps shooting at motionless targets at long range, or keeps following bunny hoppers as if he can see them, even when the bunny hop is perfect and the hopper is both silent as well as invisible, then that too tells us he's using more than the game provides.

    In short; We know what to look for even when the player doesn't. That's why it's up to you to report suspicious behavior, and up to us to find proof of hacking and ban the player if needed.

    what if someone is looking at the wall and happens to be looking at another player but he isn't walling/hacking.

    lol trust me there are pros who can master hacks well enough that i can barely tell if they cheat or not. All they use is see through wall and see ghost hack, which is really hard to tell if the hacker pretends to be legit. I've know this from a old friend who used a hack all the time while i played with him, and i still didn't spot anything. All i thought is "He's just 2 pro!"

    BTW, i think only retar.ded hacker would "keeps shooting at people before they turn the corner" and "keeps shooting at motionless targets at long range"

    i salut any ideas to deal with hackers.
  • Like I said, trust the people in charge to deal with hackers. They have tools to aid them in detecting foul play that you don't. There is no shame in reporting someone you suspect of hacking while he or she wasn't. You won't get punished for being wrong. If their play looks suspicious to you, then by all means report them and we'll handle it from there.
  • There's no need to have this suggestion left open.

    There is a system in place that does detect hacks that are used ingame and then auto bans the user using them.
    You can learn more about that through this thread:
    [thread=195843]CF Anti Hacking Measures - Z8Games Hates hackers too![/thread]

    And while waiting for the official announcement, there is work being done on how to handle IP bans and proxy account registration.

    There are plenty of threads from the past with official answers on precisely the discussion you're making. There's no need to have this up any longer.
