Frost Gaming CF LAN 2013 - duhUPDATE.
Seeing how I just got back home with about 20 xFire's and a few Steam messages saying that the LAN was cancelled, no idea who spread that rumor.
The LAN is happening, we are just confirming a venue. We currently have two that are willing to rent it out to us for a few days which is the Four Points Hotel (Airport) and the Radison. At the moment we are talking about the location, seeing which one offers the best options such as internet, space and of course the looks of the hotel, seeing how I'm gay and it must be a SPARKLY place.
Beyond that, we will have a thread up within the next week, possibly two with the official date, location, prizes, and so forth.
We are working with Frost Gaming and Z8 Games to make it happen, so don't listen to whomever is saying it was cancelled.

If things worked like I wanted to, we would have a place by now. I've done my part to make this happen.
It will be either place, I leaning towards Raddison Adrimal since its downtown and a better location.
BUT NOTHING IS CONFIRMED
Wtf I have to TTC like 1.5 Hours to get down there -.- -

That's why I had 10 computers lined up, along with BenQ Monitors.
But alright. HF FG.
Added:
LU Computers was willing to supply the LAN with them in return of publicity with banners, and such. They also offered to sponsor around $2,000 for the LAN seeing how I know Eric who runs the location in Toronto.

Apparently people don't know what facts are.
I have been in charge of renting a venue for the LAN.
Chase has gotten Computer and Prizes for the LAN.
Where are these "facts" coming from?
you're in charge of the venue? you're the one who's done nothing then. -

Step 1: Contact as many hotel/venues in the Toronto area. (56 of them)
Step 2: Tell them what we are doing and what we require
Step 3: Compare the cost, size, location, internet speed, etc. All while staying within budget.
Step 4: Work out deals with the hotel/venue for space and low room rates
Step 5: Make sure they have a date available.
Step 6: Choose location and book
I have done all but step 6 in 3 weeks. This is all volunteer work too.
We are trying to make this as easy and cost effective as possible, not only for us, but for you the players as well. I have no previous experience with a LAN but I know how to make it work. -
Everyone. these guys are coordinating a event for you all to play it with your teams for real prizes. Shut the **** up and be a bit more polite and thankful. They are doing a good thing for the community; don't be ******s and ruin it.
Community never seem to change.....
G'Night. -
Purvis has done more work then me once you look at it - none the less, we've both done a lot to contribute to the LAN.
From him calling hotels, or from me calling local companies and organizations - both goes both ways.
Hope Purvis does what he wants.
Have fun at the LAN if it happens. -

JP has done the majority of the work. The LAN should be bring your own PC imo anyways.
He has, no doubt.
I'm pretty sure half the community attending don't want to drag their systems across the country compared to those who are local or closer. I wouldn't want to bring my computers on an airplane or bus and including the fact that the computers that were being supplied were being re-constructed to fit FPS needs, etc. -

I would rather bring my own PC, granted Toronto is only a 2 hour drive. I don't like getting used to new PCs, esp. in such a short amount of time. -
Look, making an event like the LAN happen is hard work.
One person would'nt be able to set the whole thing up.
At first one person was doing to whole thing. I volunteered to help with one part.
We both did equal parts to make this event happen. Honestly calling and emailing isnt that hard, compared to my old job.
Chase you know what I had to say already.
Enough with this, "does more work crap". It's a team effort. Get off our backs.
If you don't like it, don't go or do it yourself. -
