Quick Summary of WCG Canada 2012
Sadly we weren't able to advance and placing 3rd in our group with a record of 3-2-1. Winning vs Firefrag,Japan,Germany and losing to CHINA AND VIETNAM/ TIEING BRAZIL.
The first vs China we had to shake off the nerves on top of that they gave us zero warm up time. China showed us the game in another perspective that is not understandable unless you are live here.
The tie vs Brazil was caused by our foolish mistakes and changing up our setups on Mexico forcing a tie which really hurt us. We were up vs Vietnam 3-0 and second half 7-6 but we lost with the final score 7-10 which really shocked us because we knew this match was really important to us and we lost it because we weren't thinking straight.
As a team we learned so much about this game it's been crazy experience and one thing we learned is that every team has a good shot here, the teamwork is on a whole new level and NA crossfire needs to step it up. The trolling has to be kept down to the lowest amount and people must want to become better and practice with their teams. Most of these teams here are sponsored by big names IG,MSI,TAIWAN,Philippines,VIRTUS PRO, Razer, Japans sponsor and a couple other I'm forgetting. The reason why NA VESION cannot obtain these prestigious sponsors is because we have no
competition, too much talking no shooting. Overall community is just not mature enough to handle these types of sponsors and is only going to be changed if the community comes together.
Hammertime and Carnage have talked about it and we want this game to grow and become much better as WCG will be hosted in Kunshan once again and the CROWDS just for Crossfire China would stun you. We hope that some of you understand this message and we want you guys to start thinking what we can do to help you the community. Can be Streaming, Community Events, Shout casting, Guides, Videos, or just free lessons.
As for fg.Carnage we have concluded that we can only get better and this was our first year at INTERNATIONAL STAGE with all the obstacles we had to overcome and such we believe that for any event in the future we will be showing a lot more composure.
Thanks for reading guys, this is just game related, we have **** tons of video, photos, interviews, and fun moments to share when we are back.

Because the first thing sponsors do when they look to pick up their games is their community right? COD4 community was awesome right? And don't get me started on the LoL community, that is filled with mature and smart players.

well that riot is also more profitable than z8. this allows riot to support leagues despite their community, with the support of riot/league sponsors combined you can establish a good tournament even with a troll community. Cross fire has neither, little support from Z8/sponsors and a terrible community, you need to at least work off one of the two but like i said, CF has neither.
what needs to happen (one of the two)
> More support from Z8
> less trolling
the one more likely to occur is the more support from Z8 to actually and try to establish a league, a poor community is not the result of lack of sponsors, that is a poor excuse from any league to be honest
from what i've seen
>Z8 has shown little effort to establish a stronger competitive community
>Sponsors use the excuse "terrible community," when the problem boils down to poor management (on the sponsors part), and lack of user to sponsor feedback changes, sponsors need to work with criticism
how is this going to happen?
it's going to cost time, money, patience, and effort, the league or Z8 must agree that this is going to cost more than profit in the beginning, must agree that there is a risk involved and they are going to have accept the consequences of failure as a result. (basically gamble)
Z8 needs to establish an administrative presence either from their own league or joint work with a league and show some effort that they want to establish something
this is just my 2cents that i typed up in less than 5 minutes feel free to criticize
trust me you can turn **** into gold, i've done it before
also: if cf somehow takes the 2nd route of "less trolling" which is very unlikely, eventually a user based league would form which would result in a sponsor coming, but let's be honest that is not going to happen.. -

That's true as well, you used riot as an example. They make their competitive community thrive while z8 pretty much wants us to do everything ourselves. I mean doop's LPK cup for example brought out 32 teams and they played for a whopping 15k zp prize (provided by none other than z8games). The community has nothing to do with whether or not big names will pick up our version of the game. Jon's lan in March for example, he's spending thousands of dollars to try and revive the competitive scene by giving us what we want (a lan with a big prize).
People just need to take the initiative. -

Companies(not companies like bld, lolol) sponsoring a gaming community has absolutely nothing to do with the maturity of the community.
A company like razer is not going to want to give a team free gear if there's no product placement. I mean there could be on youtube videos if someone had a decent amount of subscribers.
A company like razer could possibly even sponsor a tournament if they were to get more product placement. Lets say z8 was going to host a tourney with cash of money from razer. They would want z8 to have something on the homepage about it so they get the product placement they want.
This community will grow when more tournaments become available to play. z8 could really help by making those tournaments known to the other players of the game (pubbers, ect) -

In order for this game to grow, we need to have more tournaments. Having more tournaments means our competitive scenes grow bigger, the skill margin becomes significantly closer and sponsors start looking our way. The top 4 teams can only scrim and get decent amount of practice amongst themselves. If people stop the excessive trolling and just give these leagues who want to give our game a chance, I don't see why not? The only reason why people don't give our version of CF tournament is because of our community. First impressions are everything. People just need to smarten up and pick their trolling battles carefully. I mean, trolling is fun but when you love playing this game and you want more to happen, why throw it away by being arrogant and immature toward these new leagues/tournaments that want to give our game a chance?
