Bullets Register after Death

Just a suggestion. Perhaps it's part of the game's bug, though I kind of doubt that. Bullets can't just disappear after dying; It's like removing the grenade from exploding after it's been thrown and the player who thrown the grenade was killed afterward.

  • +1. I hate knowing that I clearly hit the guy in the head, but because his shot registered a fraction of a second earlier, he gets to live.
  • +1 My ping hover around 100, so if this actually happens, I''ll actually do some damage to low pingers.
  • Just no. I get killed by laggers enough times even without this.
  • great idea, had numerous "kills after death"

    er....kills after near death..
  • the blood you see on the other player when you shoot him after you've died is only seen on your screen. and when you die on your screen, you really died about .5 seconds ago.

in the same battle on other players' screens, they sometimes don't even hear you shoot because the information hasn't made it to the server before they killed you.

in other words, you don't deserve the kill because you're alive on your screen for an extra brief amount of time because of the ping delay. this is why the game doesn't let you reg. it's a lag but it would work out the same as if everything registered instantly; you would not of gotten the shot off.

in a perfect world where everything registers instantly, it would be very rare that 2 people killed each other at exactly the same time. kind of like a duel in real life.
  • reality, I don't know about "killing" each other but bullets have their damage..and you will get damaged if a bullet hits you out of the person you blasted who fired at the same time.
  • This may seem like a simple suggestion at first, but it actually adds a totally different spin to the game.

    +1, -1
  • I'm all for this. Or at least a per-selectable option that would allow this.

That's kind of funny because I don't use blood to notify that a bullet has been registered. As far as I know, as long as the body is laying on the ground, it's dead. which is why I die from players who have the dead body bug.

Out of this, Snipers in CF will probably have the biggest "buff" out of this, considering that it's just been the first bullet that registers makes the person the winner. Other classes will have to deal with a more tactical approach than simply rushing in and attempting to "rambo" their way out.

Regardless of whether have it for worse or for better, a game should have all of something, or none of it at all. It's really illogical for CF to be able to have "COD4's Martyrdom" yet not have bullet registration after death; It's uncanny and needs to change.
  • The problem as to why it isn't in the game is due to the engine registering bullets as having no travel time. If the server registers you shooting first then you're going to hit first, none of the weapons have bullet velocity.
Grenades go off after you've died as they have register a velocity/trajectory on the server, unlike the bullets.

so in a 1v1 situation , both die?

I must say, for a server that can register the grenade's velocity & trajectory yet not register bullet register time, this sucks. :/

If of course that the case is that they're shooting each other in the head and at the same time, then yes.
