Small noob question

Ive seen this all over the forums i was just wondering what is farming. I know what farming in an RPG is thats when u go to a boss over and over till u get what u want. Plz tell me thanks.

Same basic idea, except that you kill another bogus character. It is highly frowned upon by the community and will give you a bad name.
