I don't understand.

Why do you guys still invest so much time in trying to revive this game's competitive side? It's been overtaken by casual players who just care about the skins on their guns.

In all honesty, you guys should move on to games that have a way better chance having a successful competitive side. This game is honestly a lost cause.

    it's actually pretty well done.

Well yea that's what I'm saying, I don't see how there is a way where you guys can turn casual players into competitive players. The game has just evolved so far towards more casual play that the developer's have completely forgotten about the competitive side.

I didn't create this topic to be an *******, but I genuinely want to know why you guys think this game stands a chance at all.

    How exactly?

Well, it seems like the developers just care about getting those crate and coupon weapons out. I mean don't get me wrong, they need a source of income and that is obviously through ZP. However, I feel like the competitive side hasn't gotten much support from the developers, just a few yearly events.

I mean look at CF China, that version is so much more competitive than this, it feels like they're focusing more on that version than they are on this one.

All of the "competitive" players started out as casual players in open/closed beta.

Again, how can the developers do this? Let's brainstorm here

I know this much, but the casual players back then I feel were more competitive seeking than the casual players nowadays, if that makes any sense.

It seems like back then people weren't as hardcore pubbers as most of the people are now, with all the new content and whatnot.

You keep talking about CF China.

You realize the competitive side in CF China allows all weapons / characters, even ZP or Crate guns?

Then your statement contradicts your other statement.

What can the developers do about a community movement?

People have to want to be competitive... technically.. the tools are already there. Its no more or no less than what CSS already has.

    Eh...

Pretty much the day I convinced my team to start playing CF, we were scrimming. And that was the day after I found CF. So maybe semi-competitive, semi-casual.

    maybe not all, but most.

+1 to this^ Like doop here, I would prefer China's ruleset over our current ones :).

If the rules for the competitive scene in CFNA were like China's ruleset or at least not as strict as they are now then I believe the "casual players" as some call them, MIGHT be interested in transitioning into competitive play.

    That is just the pro.
The Con of that is that it doesn't fit the definition of "competetive". A lot would say, and I think you'd agree as well, that you're not actually using your own ability and skills to compete and win, rather it is the performance enhancement that the ZP gun provides that's doing the work for you.

I think the Con overules the pro, so having default basic CS setups would be more appropriate imo. But that is not to say that China is doing it wrong though. They have their own ways and whatever works for them. Since they always play with skinny characters and premium items and such, they will be better aiming wise because they have all the things at their disposal to help them win at practice. While if you look at North American competetive rules, it's all basic and you MUST have pure skills to win, not relying on a gun having 5 extra amo to do it for you.
