unnable to connect to game...

When I play Crossfire, I log on, blah, blah, I go to play a match with my friends and my loading bar gets to about half. Then the window stops responding, then it takes me back to the games room with a message that says. " Connection delayed." although, I am able to play the basic training as many times as I want.
Please help!

  • My mate has this exact same problem too. We have tried all the obvious like re downloading and re installing with no AV or firewall on and used registry cleaner etc but still the same.

He has a good strong internet connection and i presume his pc is up to it or he couldn't do the training thing. We have done the run in compatability and admin thing but still nothing.

we have seen a utube of this error and have looked everywhere for an answer and tried many things to correct it but nothing. He is using vista 32 bit with all service packs.

Any other advice would be great as we have tried everything we can think of and he really wants to play.

    Cheers
  • OK he finally sussed it. It seems crossfire has some kind of firewall or something similar in it that was conflicting with his firewall.

He is using virgin's PcGuard and it conflicted even tho he let it through and only worked after he completely shut it down.
  • okay thanks, I use the same computer than him. What do you mean by virgin's PcGuard is does that run while I use crossfire or is that from a different website?
  • PC Guard is an internet security suite that includes anti-virus and firewall that you can subscribe to if your isp is virgin media in the uk.

He had to completely disable the firewall part it to get the game to work.

But i would imagine that this problem could happen with other firewall brands too.
