Be Creative and Dont Worry About It!

I often see people putting down suggestions with comments like, "this will never happen because we get all our guns from so and so," or, "this will take too long to code."

The point of a Suggestions category is so that people can express their creative mind, allowing developers to get a sense of what people would like to see in Crossfire. These comments that are being made are highly unnecessary, instead think about the outcome of the idea: would players really find the idea useful, or beneficial? Would the majority of the players like to see this in a future update?

Continue suggesting your ideas, and don't be put down by such comments, because anything is possible.

  • I want futuristic guns for the Orbital Station; can only be used on that map. I can just imagine guns shooting plasma/lasers. :)

Oh, and I wish we could have the option to restrict pings in game channels (this has been suggested many times, but I wish they would add it; tired of playing against 130+ pings).
  • People hoping for a specific gun should not just give up their hopes because someone says it's a bad idea. But it is a suggestion and when I put one on the forums I want to get honest feedback of the realistic approach of my idea.

For example, if I was new to the game and I thought mabye grenade launchers should be added to all modes I would want the honest opinion of other forumer's if it is likely to happen or not.

I agree anything is possible. But this is a suggestions category and I think people want replies whether their suggestion is a valid one or not. This shouldn't make them give up on it. Just get a better sense of the community's opinion on the idea.

True, however I am talking about the players who come in the suggestions section and bash every single suggestion for the means of getting a higher post count. A common one I see is something like, "if it doesn't even exist in other CF versions, why would they make it here?" I just hate to see someones idea shot down.

You have a good point. But z8 has already laid some rules and things not to suggest yet people are suggesting it.

While this all very true, there is also a reason why we posted at thread about what not to suggest.

Also, some suggestions are redundant or just not realistic, like the gazillion threads about improving the kick-vote system.

We are aware that the system as is allows a lot of abuse, and we are looking for ways to improve it. However, suggesting we take it out of the game, or take away half our players' rights to kick the other half, is something we just won't or can consider.

  • Okay, I wasn't directing this at things like "lazur guns" or "rocket launchers". I'm not asking for players to ignore the "What not to suggest" thread, I'm asking players to actually consider some of the ideas that are suggested, such as the K2 Scope suggestion. Some players would end up saying, "why would you even bother suggesting this idea, its not like smile gate cares about us."

If they didn't care about us, you would all still be playing with M16s, and all other guns would cost ZP.

Even though it's hard to get the developers on board with new suggestions, it has been proven that they do occasionally listen to the player's input. Like with the DSR-1, the Mk-23 SOCOM, and some other guns and features that originated
