Windows7
Hello, I'm getting a new computer for christmas with Windows7. I know it says CF runs on W7 not but I'm also seen a worrying amount of people having trouble with it.
Are all W7 users having the same problem or is there some W7 that have no problems at all?

lol if windows 7 was so FTW it wouldnt have so much trouble with cf XD and ive never had a problem with cf on xp although with everyones problems they downloaded some of the latest clients my cf was continuing from the 1028 client which i cant use anymore >.< -
It's not that Windows 7 isn't the awesome supreme coolio OS.. cuz it is!
It's just that Games were not ready for it's release. Literally. They are STILL making drivers to make devices (and games) 100% functional with the new OS.
For once, it' s not Windows that is the problem - it is everyone else out of date.
I got in on the Windows 7 testing and loved it, sprung for the real thing when it popped out , and rushed shipped it to use it right away, only minor snags in a few games (CF doesn't seem to be the problem... Xtrap does.)
I don't know if I'll get in trouble for mentioning other games.. but I am gonna anyway here (sorry if this is a violation, but this is a basic list)
Games/Programs having problems with "Windows 7" merely need Updated by the company that made them, these include:
Drivers for the AMD 4890 Video card (which I have)
Fallout 3 (experiences problems with Quad Cores and minor lag with Windows 7 - fixable with patching and/or tweaking)
CrossFire (more on Xtraps side for not updating properly)
Anything using "Nprotect" as anti-cheat
Sims 3 (experiences similar to Fo3 - except no known work around yet, and total crashing occurs)
So really of the "top games" working right now, and the list of games I play is over 65, having so few problems is wonderful.
Stay away from Nvidea on Laptops - they are having issues right now (and have for the last year) but on Desktops/gaming rigs they are on par with AMD (desptie the war - right now the 2 companies are about even, depending if you play games more, or make things more, if your only a gamer - Nvid, if your going to make music/videos/games/animation - AMD is your bet)
And honestly, due to all these factors I find it hard to believe anyone still blames microsoft for the problems, computer configurations, hardware, drivers, conflicts in programs or use of RAM or HDD space - there are sooo many other reasons a computer can "not play a game properly" you all just rush to the conclusion it's the new OS - since that's what changed. You went from XP to 7 and didn't bother checking if drivers were compatible and junk.
Seriously folks... chillax. Look at all the angles before you decide to blame the OS.
Windows 7, FTW, forever.
My spec Pwn all:
Core i7 Quad 920 @ 3.66Ghz
6 GB Triple Channel DDR3 1600 RAM @ 1800
ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB @ 1Ghz
Windows 7 (of course!)
1 TB harddrive.
Yes... My system can play any game out there, full graphics, without stutter. -

you know u have to agree with me for what im about to say
its not that the games wern't updated in time for its release windows 7 was released to earlyer it has some work to be done on it, if it was updated some more before released it would be the best ruling OS for many years to come but its just going to drag out with aload of updates that could of been added on before release
its only because they left it to late to put into development for the time line they wanted it done by >.<
lol linux and windows should be put together then maybe windows would never receive a blue screen of death XD -
