spiky ping lag
ok... this is my first time i've gotten this... and I am really unfortunate(not really)
I know there's a thread made by the mods about high ping ans latency but do i really have to put down information there and that's it?
anyways... i have a normal fps rate of 60(west coast) but now my ping spikes to 4000 ping and over. after that, i get D/C from the room.
how am i suppose to complete a game when this is happening to me?
I need help

make sure your run game-booster as-well, it helped my ping.
game-booster link:
http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
make sure you check off all the processes going on in the background of your computer. E.g: Internet explorer, spotify & make sure no downloads are taking place.
also try turning your computer off for a lil while then turning it back on to restart your internet connection to your computer as it might be your computer overheating and working harder to calculate processes on your computer. which can lead to your internet been affected (speed etc)
thanks for reading -

Gamebooster itself doesn't affect your ping, only FPS. However, it closes innecesary programs that might eat up your connection. -

no offense but vista FTL
what you should do is try turning off your modem for 20 seconds so your whole internet connection can be refreshed, check what internet speed you should have and download something and check the download rate, for example mine is 7.5meg internet speed and i can download things between 550-700kb/s, if your download rate is nowhere near your internet speed then you should contact your internet provider and ask them to check what your current internet speed is at, the problem may be at z8's end but i doubt that it is, plus they have a new anti-hack system which may be the problem,
P.S.
you could of just posted the relevant information on GM saidin's sticky instead of making a thread and typing so much XD -
Please note that the following only applies if you have Vista + wireless.
It's my understanding, from the posts above, that you have a Vista comp and you're on wireless network. Many gamers have complained about having issues with Vista & wireless but there's things you can try to fix your problem.
WLAN Optimizer

WLAN Optimizer is a program that stops Vista from scanning for new networks every 60 seconds. For many gamers, running this program in the background while gaming stopped their lag spikes. If WLAN Optimizer doesn't work for you, you can also try another program called Vista Anti-lag. Personally, I prefer WLAN Optimizer and suggest trying that first.
There's other similar progs/fixes for this issue but they would require me to go into more detail. If the above doesn't work for you, try googling "Vista Wireless Lag" and it should lead you to various other ways to try fixing the issue. Just be careful because some of the fixes can get a little technical. If you're not comfortable trying what's suggested, don't do it.
Next, is your router and adapter settings. You could try changing the channel for your router to something like 11. Sometimes, other wireless networks in your area can conflict with yours. Try changing the channel to see if that's part of the problem. Also, go into your wireless adapter settings and make sure it's set to always be on.
I hope that helps. Best of luck. -
