The m4 is a great gun which is much cheaper and is available at any rank. That's pretty much the only advantages it has over the ScarL.

both are rather accurate guns. For the exact statistics go to item shop, select both and hit compare. I prefer spam- lite but I've got to admit, it is boring.
i'd say if your looking for a gun, buy one to fit your playing style not which is better stats. If you stay back and play more of a long range game (tho not sniping) an M4 or scar will be better. If you charge then you'd more likely want to go with a spray gun like the kriss, tommy, MP5, MP7 and M60. If you feel you do both an AK is powerful enough to one shot, but can be used effectively up close too since it is so strong. If you decide on AK heres my warning, the recoil is high so you need to incorporate that.

M4 or XM8? which one do u want? Oh well I'll review all 3.
Power-1.ScarL 2.Xm8 3.M4
Accuracy-Roughly the same, no noticable difference(xm8 scope is helpful sometimes)
FireRate-1.M4 2.Xm8 3.ScarL
Recoil-1.ScarL 2.M4 3.Xm8(most)Xm8 has a wider spray than the other 2(its controlable)
Weight-1.ScarL 2.Tie(both weigh about the same, you wont notice a difference)
Although the ScarLight seems to be the best choice, it makes you a douch for using it. It's Recoil is just a touch higher than the Kriss, the power is almost as high as the AK47(which shoots a bullet twice the size of the ScarL in real life) the accuracy is (literally) perfect when standing. The ONLY flaw in the gun is the slow fire rate, but even then it takes a TANK to use a(non-noobcannon)gun and win at any range(I can

Really using a ScarL makes you a douch and degrades your skills because you become used to no recoil and a 3shot stomach kill. DO NOT BUY A SCAR LIGHT. if you try the m4 and xm8 and they dont take your fancy try the G36k or QBZ, they have higher recoil but alot more power.NO SCARLIGHTS!!!! -
It depends - i love all guns - but i got the scar l - so
If you are spraying - you can control better the m4a1
Accuracy - i am the 1 shot hs guy but both got good accuracy (for me 16 is good!!! )
Power ; Scar light is better ; try to play in alaska and crossroad with m4a1 and in S$D pick layed down Scars and you will see with wich weapon you are playing better
YOU look very COOL with an m4a1 in your hand - scar looks like a gatling gun lowl
btw - lots of noobs says that scar l is a overpowred weapon - they just cry when they play aginst a scar l pro - the only overpowred weapon is KRISS Super V but i love it
