how to run CF smoother
If you got 150+ FPS in 8v8, your ping is ok, but the game it still feels laggy and isn't run as smooth as you want or how it's supposed to be, there are 2 things you can do to fix that:
turn off or move the paging file to another drive(not another partition).
If you have 4gb ram installed on a 32bit OS, 8gb(or more) on a 64bit OS you can turn it off. If you got less, move it to another drive and set the same value for initial size and maximum size.
Start/Computer/Properties/Advanced system settings/Advanced/Settings(under performance)/Advanced/Change
Why you should do that?
Windows will always use the virtual memory, no matter how much of physical you have installed.
You'll see a big improvement of...everything.

Also, can this cause any damage to the pc?
I am on Windows 7 64-bit with 6gb ram.
unmark "automatically manage paging file size for all drives"
mark " No paging file"
press the set button
windows will ask you to reboot , click yes
doing this will not harm your computer -

Yeah I understand that, but it says if you have more than 8gb ram you cna turn it off on 64-bit. I have less than 6 gb, so what do i need to do?
Thanks in advance. -
But it's smooth enough :PSimFlash22 wrote: »If i have 20/25 FPS (8on8), with this, how many FPS I can improve?S-N-I-P-E-S wrote: »What's the difference between moving and turning it off?
it's all about making your computer to think and act faster by skipping the reading data from your hard drive where the virtual memory is located.
moving the paging file to another drive(better if you don't have anything on it, but the paging file) it will be a faster access to those files.
when you defragment your C partition(where the paging file are located by default) you'll see they are located between the OS files and that means a slower access to them.
the files are marked with blue, the unmovable files(paging files) are green.Giggletron wrote: »Cant say ive noticed a difference.iAmElusive wrote: »Yeah I understand that, but it says if you have more than 8gb ram you cna turn it off on 64-bit. I have less than 6 gb, so what do i need to do?

if you got 4gb ddr3, you only play crossfire and don't use any background programs who needs a lot of memory, it's fine to turn it off.
if you want to edit videos or play new games like bf3, forget about it.
you need to be sure that you'll not run out of memory.
you can set it to minimum allowed when play cf and use the system managed size for something else. -

/Thread
and why /Thread?
because it's not a weapon guide, spop review, rate my account or how to become pro in 1 day thread?
it's a simple tweak, like many others out there, meant to improve the gaming experience.
there are many ppl who doesn't know about it and this simple tweak can help them.
I almost forgot how bad this community is, thx for reminding me about that.
