The Stupidest Thing I Hear in CrossFire Everyday...

  • The Noob/Newb confusion originated from Runescape.
Lots of players who fit the original definition of "Noob" got called noob so much that they started using it as a general insult with no meaning and took it to other games they played. People in other games trying to figure out its meaning came to the conclusion that it was a degraded form of the term "Newb".

"Noob" was originated as a term in Ultima Online (One of the first successful MMO's). There it was used to shorten a definition to a word. The definition being "A player that makes no or the least amount of effort to improve and expects others to do things for them instead [begging for money, getting other players to kill monsters, ect...]"

When RS came out, many UO players went there and took the terms with them.
  • You can't change a definition of a word no matter which perspective you look at it.
Why do I even have to mention this?
  • back to the subject. i call a player a camper as a joke. the only real campers are the ones that stay in there base . and you dont kick them for that. just razz them a little.
  • RageGh0st wrote: »
i meant that camper get an advantage over me(being able to see me, and me not able to see him

You're wrong. It takes about half a second to actually look at a random place where a camper is waiting. It is actually a huge advantage of yours, not his at all, to get rid of him. The camper isn't invisible and he doesn't take advantage of any map exploit, he doesn't do anything wrong. It's just you who willingly choose not to look on the map or choose to look at it a bit too late.

Am I being stupid here or what?
  • just stop..... your just making it wrose you insulted people. you dont agree with anyone and anyone that come here you start a fight with. your like badmonkey 2 to me.(dont mean to attack you badmonkey)

I agree with anyone that can use logic. Just by looking at this page, I agree with Exeunt and Danny. The only reason you agree with gh0st is because you're both dumb.
  • Wherever Danny is098885']You can't change a definition of a word no matter which perspective you look at it.

I thought that was pure logic? Lmao.

did i say i agree with him about hes opinion? no but i dont insult him for having that opinion but you did insult him because he dont got the same opinion.
also you know you been insulting me or ghost all the time when he or me didnt insult you.
so what reason do you have to insult us?
also keep going on with insulting if you want.
but would you said all this if ghost or me was a MOD or GM? no you wouldnt.
but i dont know from where you got it that i agree with ghost i just support him because you insult him for no reason.

please get this through your head:

    get this through your head.
dont insult someone because he/she dont have the same opinion like you.

    OH MY GOD......

You're like arguing with a brick........
  • I think this thread got out of hand.

I think we should summarize this thread, who is against camping and who things it is legit?

Why is camping good, and why is it bad?

Anyway, I will add my own opinion to this, I haven't read the whole thread.

"Any fool can rush, it takes skill to camp and wait for the fools rushing in." I don't know in which post Donshark said this but I disagree with him. I think you don't need a lot of skills to wait behind a box and wait for the stupid people to come. Everybody can wait behind a box.

Anyway, whateven, this is not a reason to call him a dump farmer. What he just said might sound a little bit "strange" but this is still not a reason to insult him.

When i said it's unfair, i meant that camper get an advantage over me(being able to see me, and me not able to see him).

If you come to think about the reason behind this fight is that you like camping and i don't(stupid reason).

I have to disagree with you.

Well yes it is unfair but this doesn't makes it a bad thing to do. The point of this game is to kill other players and how you do is up to you. Beside that, it is not that hard to kill an camper, you just have to slow down and check the corners. People who camp are mostly stupid and easy to defeat anyway, you can just jump around the corner and shot him.

so he uses weapons that doesn't need skills to kill with.

I don't agree with this too. I think there are no noob weapons, some weapons might be better then others but they are all available for all the players, you can get it too.

I think the m12s is not overpowered, I just make one shot at their head and they die. Same with the scar light, I rarely see someone do good with that weapon, they all just spray.

A noob is a person who really sucks at a game but refuses to learn/listen to people who are skilled. Many of them may have been playing the game for a while, but still suck at it. A newb, on the other hand, comes from "newbie." Somebody new to a game and they will generally suck at it. However, the reason that they suck is because of their unfamiliarity to the game. They have the potential to become good. This is not a derogatory term.

This is how I would describe a noob too. It is a player that plays this game since a long time but still s*cks at it. People who are new to the game are just newbies and will get better with time.

People have different perspectives. Some may say you're correct, some may not. Learn to tolerate it if someone disagreed.

I don't know, those terms exists since a long time and you can't really debate on their meaning. This is not the same as looking at a picture and then trying to understand what it means.

Not when he is behind a door like here

Do you always turn around in those situation? I'll be honest, I forget it sometimes.

  • rYKFZ.png

I'll be honest, I forget it sometimes.

It seems everytime I forget to look in a corner, they're there. The 99 % of the time I do look, they're never there... :/

    +1 to the drawing LOL
  • I camp a lot but i don't camp with c4 and noob things like that i normaly kill one guy in camp and next i go to kill other guys in the map i don't camp all the game ofcourse
  • Well, wasn't that a barrel of laughs.

    /sarcasm.

Quit the tolling, flaming, insulting etc etc.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, everyone has one whether you like it or not.

Just because someone disagrees with you, it does not mean you have to write 50 posts saying so, and arguing with them.

No-body wins in this scenario, there's just a fair few losers.

So quit while you're (relatively) ahead, or take it to PM's.
  • Camping is a skill that is used all the time, even by the people who 'don't camp'.
One player can not 'not camp'.
It is impossible. You plant the bomb, you don't 'rush' A long.

Camping is also quite an ineffective tactic. It gives you little to no map control, you don't know which site the bomb will be planted at (Unless you are camped in a site, in which case, you WILL get flushed out).

Most players also check corners, so it is a better tactic to use when playing 'Mind Games', and shooting when they look around, than actually camping in the corner for the kill.

However, with enough skill and proper camp spots (not behind the door), you can deny the enemy territory, say Bw-Catwalk-Denies Mid or Passage to A or BW-Barricades-Denies A top(partially) and A long. Taking these 2 points would mean that the enemy team WILL have to plant at B. And in a 4 man team, 2 people can easily defend B by 'zoning' (LoL).

tl;dr Camping good for pros, bad for noobs.
  • happens in every game. best to ignore. recently in bf3`s most tactical mode someone called me that terrible C-Word. What can i say, I certainly didn`t land that bolt action rifle 920 meter headshot by a bunnyhopping quickscope. I camped.
  • Why so serious guys? I would say camping is a good strategy when u r the only one left. However, it doesnt work with professional players (like me :D). Moreover stupid noobs who camp all the game cant last very long, thats for sure. Honestly once u guys played all the map and remembered all the camping boxes, that would be no problem. U might die once or twice, but then you will remember to check every box and be aware 360 degree around u.
Conclusion: camping is not bad if you play it wisely, but dont use it too often because the enemy will be more cautious next time. In most of shooting games I see campers are always the one who die first and mostly because of grenades xD
  • you get rushed by visible ghosts running straight at you , you shoot them with the m4 3 times , they die , they claim that you use third party software , some dim wit with one quarter of a brain in your team decides to kick you so he claims ace , Game over
Not much needs to be said
  • it doesnt matter what you do, if it is successfull, there will be always someone whining about it.

    "camper"
    is just an excuse for
"damm, i forgot to check all options, so i got pwned like a noob".
  • " They say camp - I say Tactical Ambush" ;-)
