ZP Crates

Hey all,

Just wondering. Imagine a scenario where you have say 80,000 ZP. That will get you 10, 8,000 K crates (10 crates in bulk).

Now, I was wondering, do you have more chance on winning the item in the crate by using all ZP to get all 10 of the 8,000 K ZP crates, because that's the most you can afford than to say buy 10, open them, then buy another 10, open them, and so on? Or doesn't it matter? I ask because I recently bought 100 Brass Knuckle crates and got it in 36 crates, the other 54 crates were useless, and I don't want to do that again, I'd rather buy 10, then keep on buying 10 until I get it, but I won't if it means less chance on winning.

Thank you very much for reading.
:D
PS. I don't want anyone insulting anyone, just a friendly post please.

  • Personally I don't think it affects your chances to win the item, it's just about luck, but that just me
  • I prefer to have more crates, because it feels better

    but doesn't matter. Gun won.
  • well sometime its really all about luck teh thing happened to me was stupid. the first day i open 120 crates and only i close miss with the brass Knuckle so i didint get it from all the 120 but the second day i came back from school which is the same time i open the 120 of them i got the brass Knuckle only opening 10 crates......
  • i always buy much crates .. like 100 .. most of the time i win the weapon

I was upset that I spent a lot of zp and won nothing, so I did some research and math to try to understand when I will win something.
    Here is what they said,

    Hello,
I have been trying to win two crates off the blackmarket, the sterling crate and the R93 t2 crate. I have played the Sterling crate 57 time over the past two day, and have played the R93 t2 crate roughly 140 times over the past two day. From the sterling crate I have won a gun 18 times and the same one gun 5 times, from the r93 t2 crate I won a gun 66 times and the same one gun 20 times.
The odds of me wining any one item out of 11 possibilities with three selections are 1 in 3.1 and if 4 out of the 11 possibilities are guns then I have a 1 in 2.4 odds of wining a gun. OK I played the sterling crate 57 times and won a gun 18 times which is 1 to 3.1 OR 31% of the time, (pretty fair), of that I won the same gun 5 times or 36% of the time I won guns. SO HOW COME IF THE POSSIBILITY OF ME WINNING THE SAME GUN 5 TIMES IS JUST A POSSIBLE FOR ME WINNING THE STERLING, WHY DIDN''''T i WIN IT????????????????????
THE SAME LOGIC GOES WITH THE R93 CRATE, i PLAYED IT 140 TIMES!!!!!!!! i WON 1 GUN 20 TIMES BUT THE GUN (R93) i WON ZERO TIMES? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?? IT IS NOT!!!!!
i SPENT ENOUGH ZP AND GP PLAYED A TOTAL OF 197 TIMES, MATHEMATICALLY SPEAKING i SHOULD HAVE WON EACH OF THESE GUNS 4 AND 13 TIMES RESPECTIVELY. BUT INSTEAD i WON 3.4 YEARS OF SPRAY!!!((1200 DAYS) 179 TIMES)

OK I understand that it is not equally weighted (house rules) but honestly I played enought times I should have won at least once.
I have more than contributed to z8 games in terms of zp over the YEARS.
Please deposit into my account the sterling and the r93 t2, I would be very thankful and am more than deserving.
    Thanks,

The Black Market system is purely based on luck, there is no sure way to win a weapon. Purchasing a crate and spinning it does not guarantee that you will win that weapon. Please purchase crates at your own discretion.

    We wish you good luck!

Yes I understand that, but I played 197 times, SO YOU SEE 1 out of 11 is pretty good but ZERO OUT 197 just does not make scene.
I have been playing for 3 years, I am one of your best customers, don''t **** me off.
IF it is based on "luck" or chance then explain to me how come I won the dragonov 20 times and did not win the R93 even once??
    EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!!!

    Hello,
Different people have different results, different amount of spins will yield different results. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this as the crate system is purely based on luck.
Additionally we do not give out weapons or items as it would be unfair to other players.

Ok, if there are 11 items in a crate, when I spin that crate is the main item (gun) in that crate?
What I mean is are my chances of winning 1 out of 11??
Or is there some other formula that decides when the main item will be won? If so, tell me what are my chances of winning are. For example, "1 out of 300" ??
Do some research if you have to but please tell me the odds.
    Thanks,

  • Buy them at the same time. It is all about luck. I'm holding my thumbs for you :D
  • It's all about luck no matter how you purchase the crates!
  • Doesn't matter so just do the latter. If you get it on the first crate... You've just wasted all of your ZP, unless you want several M4a1-E's or whatever.
  • I once heard apparently buying in 20 crate bulks increases your chances, but that didn't work for me, also I do not believe that the infamous spin spot exists either, all luck I think. They probably have a system like for every 200 crates bought the 200th one will contain the gun, generally that how must of these things work, but I'm not sure if that is true for the BM.
  • wimpypuss, what is wrong by using a sniper wich least 90 days??

And why don't you just purchase an AWM. and use your ZP to temperory weapons? So you can waste your money at least to something ''''worthed''''.
  • I suggest buying 10 then opening then 10 again, since if you buy 80 then open them and you win the perm BM gun, its a waste of buying those crates.
  • Nope. Its either your lucky or your not.

Of course buying 10 crates compared to 1 or 5 will give you a better chance.

I bought over 400 Halloween crates and didn't get a gun from them. For some crates i bought like 10 and got a gun ( Ak47 camo & beretta ) while other people bought over 100 and never even saw the gun. I think the system is just made purely of luck, each time you click it decide if you get the gun or not, not taking into account the time it spent spinning, or something along those lines.
  • I bet it's a guy who pushes a button every ten minutes. :D

==== MATH TIME WITH ACE! ====

Every ten minutes some random guy gets one. How many people do you think are spinning at that time?

That number x 10 / how long it takes you to spin.

Assuming it takes you 30 seconds to spin and there's 50 people spinning... your odds are 1/1667, so it should take you 16,670 minutes or 278 hours, or 11 days or 1 week and a half. It would also take 500.1 crates, so 501.. assuming you buy it all in packs of 10 crates you save 2k per every ten! Reducing you down to 400.8 crates, or 401. Since 1k zp is about 1 dollar, every B.M gun costs about 401 dollars at most.

So to guarantee you get your gun, simply buy 401k zp!

==== ALRIGHT KIDS, THAT'S ENOUGH MATH TIME FOR TODAY ====
  • In my opinion , i don't think this gonna make you chance less , but I prefer to buy a lot to have more coupons .
  • These things don't affect your chances of winning at all. It's simple; you win it or you don't. :o
  • Crates are not affected by time, bulk, spinning time or any other factors.
The prizes are determined when you click the button.
I buy crates in 10 because I find extra crates are a waste (unless its a pistol/melee crate) and that spinning 100 crates @ once gets really boring. (Usually if I'm mass spamming crates, I put on a movie and shut off the fx sound in CF so I can't hear the crates spinning.)
  • But remember kids, Murphy's law always applies.

If you buy a million crates, you win the gun on the second try, and waste the crate left.
If you buy crates few at a time, you win the gun on the millionth one.
  • I think it is every x amount wins the gun. maybe every 1000? I notice the crates that alot of people spin are harder to win, like the de-camo, one of the best GP guns and everyone has GP and spins the crate so it's harder to win.

oh, and the chances of winning when you spin, it was discussed awhile ago and some people said the junk winnings (namecards, sprays, coupons,7 day guns) there might be a 100 of each of those in a crate but only 1 of the permanent gun, so the chances are 1 in a 1000

and if you notice the permanent gun is always won in the same spot, the bottom circle, so it might seem like have a 1-3 chance when spinning 1 crate but it's really only a 1-1 chance.

Look. The chances of winning an item are not all the same. The belt that feeds the items could be 1000 items long, with only 1 of them being the best prize, for all we know. Just because there are 11 items doesn't mean there is an equal chance for winning all the items. Obviously items such as sprays and items are common, coupons being semi common, and the best prize being the rarest. The exact percentages aren't known by us, but the chances of winning the best item is extremely low in comparison to sprays for example.

And to the OP, post in the Barracks section next time. This isn't a guide.

This whole "If you close miss you'll not get the gun from the crates you will open after that" thing is rubbish. Yesterday, I directly bought 20 Sterling crates (had already bought about 40 when the patch was introduced). In the first crate, the Sterling was one above the winning zone. Still, I won the gun in my very last crate...
A similiar thing happened to my bro, he had the AUG-Camo one below the winning zone and won the gun directly in the next crate...

This isn't correct either. The reason for the fact that if a gun is won it always appears in the lowest section of the winning zone is that the game decides whether you win or not the moment you spin. For the case that it decides to let you win, it always has the same pattern of displaying it, which is:
lowest part of the winning zone: the gun
middle and upper part: something else

    best regards,
    Urkel

The 11 capsules you see are purely visual.
I repeat, the capsules you see, all 11 of them that roll around, are purely visual.
If there really are just eleven capsules for both zp and gp crates, then this means that everyone would already have won a gun from the black market.
