Also they said that the project that they are doing will be a improvement of Crossfire.

    Our version?
  • I think the graphics are just fine and dandy imo. because if it would upgrade then people would have to get stronger computers just to play. ( besides thats what ps3,and 360 are for.)
  • Maybe when Somalia hosts the FIFA World Cup :P

Ya the graphics are pretty good, well my computer's pretty BEAST. Don't really need like high class quality like battlefield. Just this graphics is fine for me.

And that's the DAMN POINT. The Engine they are working in is OUTDATED...it's an 2006 Engine in the year 2012...as I've said before, there are Engines MORE MODERN that run BETTER and on OLDER MACHINES that CF 2 would/could be placed in...

    AND.

Different Engine is NOT = new game. It may LOOK like a new game, but they can get it PRETTY DANG CLOSE to how the GAMEPLAY was in the LAST version. Look at PB (if you can)...it's JUST like CF except for the map design (which is WAY better). Same smooth gameplay, just different Gfx and newer weapons.

I feel compelled to correct even more fallacies and opinions with facts.

Coding a game in a brand new engine would not be some sort of downloadable upgrade to the game. It would be considered a brand new game.

Cross Fire has received graphical updates which work within the scope of the engine they are using. Cross Fire is limited to that engine, otherwise it would be a different game (even a sequel). What was implied is a "2.0" upgrade like web 2.0 or something like that. A term used to describe a significant graphical change.

In that case Cross Fire may actually be on 5.0 or higher! We have seen everything from a better interface to higher texture resolution. It is even more apparent when looking at some of the newest reflective (specular level) weapons that have been added.

CF Also has introduced things like breakable objects, movable objects (doors), low gravity and soon to be some new gameplay elements in an upcoming map! While yes, those features aren't advanced level Call of Duty features, for the engine within its limits these are new to US. Cross Fire is a gameplay first game, and accessible to older machines. For example, the latest Uncharted game may push the boundaries of graphical capabilities, and may be designed in an engine which can handle "lower end" machines. Those lower end machines are still lightyears ahead of the curve for the general population.

The more people you take into account the lower quality PC the person has. This is true when you start factoring in more than 1 country.

The end result is that Cross Fire is accessible, and has great gameplay elements and more updates to its content and evolving updates for its content to keep you interested, keep you wanting to play and keep the enjoyment for the game growing!

A major engine overhaul is highly unlikely for this version of Cross Fire. As pointed out however, Smilegate (the developers of CF) have licensed the Unreal Engine for unannounced projects. That seems exciting enough for me!

    And with that, thread closed.
