Smoke fps drops
There might be a topic about that, but searches in forums just **** me off.
Being able to play at smoke is essential for a good rush.
I tried all of my GPU (GeForce GTX 280) settings and I still get my fps droppin about 90 when at smoke.
Tried to google it but nothing solves, so I decided to ask you guys.
What are the best graphic settings for smoke?

~When, you say "a good rush". I'd like to think you mean a random idea.
That involves shear luck, when hoping a good outcome of this reckless move.(ie. who knows how many ppl that are holding a bomb site or middle sections of maps.)
-When players, attempt such mindless ideas,in public games or scrims,I giggle and watch
it go either way, from afar.(good or bad,WHO CARES?) hahaha..
-So I,myself sit back, save my Smoke bomb, and HP wait til the coast is clear, and move along in whatever direction is most logical, from my spawn point,or where ever I may be @ this time.
Gamesense/tryharding is crucial when you don't have the leading start from spawn.(when choosing a direction to aimlessly rush towards)So rushing becomes even more dangerous. This is what most average players should think,in situations, while trying to improve KDRs & win/loss ratios...
This is one option, you can guarantee a more visible outcome, before you even start the round.
Whether you're aware of my petty methods or not doesn't matter to me...I felt the need to say this, because I couldn't sleep. LOL....
GL on fixing your technical problem though. pce -
Welcome to the world of games.
The smoke effect is a series of smaller effects and takes more toll on your pc to render them.
CF doesnt make use of the GFX card.. hence why you didnt get a difference. 90 fps is fine. Its not like its critically low with smoke now is it?
Why did you post in the competitive section for this? -

Good logic but very little in the way of answering his question.
Many players lag when entering smoke. I don't know if this is part of the effect of a smoke grenade. Mimicking disorientation that a smoke grenade would cause. If it's part of the program, then there is no way around it. Having a high fps(190-227) smoke has little or no effect on my game play. Other than the effect that I can't see. Perhaps a graphic card update would be the best solution? -
I'm not complaining about 90 fps. But my average fps is 160.
When you get a hard fps drop the game lags in front of you, then enemies have advantage when I'm under smoke.
Also strategy is not my point, I made this thread here cause competitive players use to be more experienced. -
