I've always liked the idea of having "news writers".
Not even just for the competitive scene.
The only problem is how could this be made possible? Would they get some official tag so that people know they're part of the news writing team? I mean not even just a single thread. Anytime something happens a new one could be made and stickyed for a few days. -
The largest problem with the competitive community is the lack of effort from the players. Most competitive players [believe me, I used to think I was one] don't make the effort to Z8Games. The surprising part is that this is the first thread in a while in which an effort was made.
That's problem number one. Problem number two is the community's attitude itself. The community is constantly in a civil debate over their egos.
Problem number three is the lack of participation. Most events, competitively, rarely have as much participation as public events.
Problem number four is the lack of support for ZP. ZP has totally been alienated from competitive gaming. Of course you're not going to get full support 100% of the time when ZP is alienated.
A company tailors to it's best customers first, no exceptions. In the case of a business, it's generally the customers who buy a lot of things, a lot of times.
wow... terrible read. not even going to bother pointing out all the wrong just exit.[GM]Saidin wrote: »No matter what we do (or the devs) or what gets fixed, or implemented, it will be deemed not enough by players. This is just a common fact with all games.
let's not push the devs to fix game breaking bugs because people will just complain about something else.
i don't like this vibe our lead dog has. i want a leader that seeks perfection no matter what it takes. -

I will fully admit that the tournament/competitive section of the site is lacking, my original goal for its creation was to have a news feed that could be more dedicated to the news of leagues/drafts and tournaments. What we found over time is that everything we announced would either take too long to start or fall apart in the end. I'm not laying blame on others however, it is our fault that the page is not updated more often.

Even though Fight4Frag is an obviously smaller tournament and doesn't have an Awesome quantity of prizes; we've tried to reach out to the Mods about even a basic sticky of our main Tournament Info thread that had all the important information on it until the tournament ends and have gotten ignored like we didn't matter. Were trying to at least start a small tournament in hopes it will go somewhere but it seems like you guys really honestly don't care. -

will there ever be a option for round timer? 1:45 2:00 2:30 -
"E-Sports in general is way bigger over there than in North America." Which is why you are supporting it so well, while the tiny miny eu e-sports is being supported 100x better. Lol.
Still no excuse for not fixing a 2 year+ old bug ^^ Nice read but that's only Saidin's side of the story.
I hope you realize that Saidin isn't the developer of the game, thus he cannot instantly fix what you guys complain about. If you actually paid attention throughout the thread, you'd see that he has to forward the bugs to the ACTUAL developers of the game to have it fixed.
Saidin just administers the game, he doesn't develope it. -

But i'm pretty sure he can tell the devs of certain issues. -

actually, hi makes a valid point. you lazy ****s never participate in anything, you're always immature and you can't take **** seriously. example, whenever i hosted a draft or helped hosting one people would just dispute for the hell of it, which would cause everything to slow down for no reason at all.
also, no new teams manage to stay together because nobody takes anything serious at all, yet you idiots still manage to sign up for tournaments/leagues when it's clear that your team is on the verge of disbanding.
and as to your reply to saidin, it is the epitome of stupid. for one of the first times our "lead dog," as you like to refer to it, shows interest in the competitive scene and offers some help, and all you manage to do is be negative about the whole situation. you're an absolute idiot and your pseudo intelligence is actually rather annoying. -

And if you've read what I said you'd know it's a bug that has continuously being reported for over 2 years. I know the process of fixing bugs, and it's never instant. I get that. But 2 years, not fixing half the available resolutions... Not everyone has a wooden PC or enjoys minecraft graphics on a 24'' monitor. I play with aspect OFF, however I wouldn't mind not straining my eyes when pubbing. -
Didn't every team that had a chance of winning agree that armor should be allowed and that there should be some sort of tournament entry fee that could also possibly include armor for the duration of the tournament?
I honestly don't mind if armor is allowed. However i feel if its allowed and there is a league that takes money to sign up for, armor should be included with the package. Just for the duration of that event. -
I am all for the support and continuation of the CrossFire competitive scene. Whatever we do, we'll be made fun of, but I'd rather take humility with a grain of salt than watch all competition die off.
I don't see what the big deal about is; it's fairly obvious. -
I think we should leave "echo 8 scrim" and move on to clan server. I know this sound stupid but If we all move there are going to be alot more people and once people realize how the "competitive" rules work they will start following the same rule and we can get alot more people into the competitive scene. Echo 8 is a random server with like 100 at most scriming/pubbing with each other over and over, while in clan server the channels(s) are almost full all the time. I know it's really easy for echo 8 players to take down a clan that plays in clan server but its going to be challenging when we all play there and can always find a team/clan to scrim/clan war against rather than vsing the same teams over and over every day. I think this will always keep people from clan/team hopping because you will need a team to scrim/clan war with. Z8games should make clan server more public like with the lobby chat system and rejoing system. It sad how some team have to wait till 7 pm est to find a scrim and at most there are like 3 scrims even at that time. Just an idea I had in my mind. This might take time but if we succeed, alot more sponsors/leagues going to come out once they realize alot of people play the game competitive. Just my opinion please don't question it.

Is it possible for G4box to hire a dedicated marketing/publicist specialist (an very attractive and smart female perhaps?)?
That person will do all the media promotion for the game in the competitive gaming community full time.
She will be responsible for finding sponsors, getting ads, help organizing tournaments, talking to websites, TV programs producers, e.g. whoever.
As one of the co-organizers of all tournaments and competitions, she will represent G4box and have a say in rules and regulations in those events.
She can require that ZP weapons and characters be allowed. In this way the fans and audience will be drawn to purchasing ZP, thereby increase the company revenue, to help pay for her salary.
All the media coverage of the competitions and tournaments will increase CrossFire's visibility in the public and attract more players.
To be honest, CrossFire is really not well known enough to the average citizens in US. Almost everyone knows counterStrike but few people have heard of CrossFire.
G4box just have to find a way to increase the player base via competition route and making some profit or unless not losing money.
Unlike CounterStrike that sells the game itself to generate income, CrossFire is solely depending on selling ZP to make a living.
The competitive scene has to change to allow CrossFire to be different in regard to promoting ZP weapons and products by players.
Please feel free to differ from my view, but don't make personal attacks. Thanks!
