cqc 90% of the time.
and yea, shotguns are actually underpowered, comparing to CS or OP7,
in CS the Xm1014 is actually fairly accurate and have a small spread and can kill at med range no problem.
in OP7, shotgun can total up to 150 dmg and have a small spread, but they nerfed it so the spread is bit bigger, but still very leathal.
In real life shotguns have small spread compared to gaming shotguns spread. -

but when most ppl hear M4, they typically think collapsible butstock
NOTE: many configurations and/on carbines such as the M4 have collapsible stocks, but they can be fitted to MG's, SMG's, and yes even shotguns as shown in the picture about 2 replys above. it just depends on who is making the weapons and if they want to get creative or not lol
this may seem like a pointless post but sometime in ur life it will help to know this
PS. i am not flamming or trying to insult SeaSp4rrow in anyway i was just using the pictures -

honestly I don't care about the butstocks, I fitted a M249 SAW stock on a Type 89 in OP7, it's the reciever and barrel that matters. when I think of M4A1, I think of the 14.5 inch barrel, when I think of M16 I look at the longer 20.7 inch barrel (not sure, around 20 something)
