Permanent Rooms
I searched the forum and I was kind of surprised that nobody suggested this: permanent rooms. If I say or do anything stupid please point it out.
The concept of permanent rooms is simple. There are rooms that are always going to be there, even if everyone left.
> If a player got kicked from the game, they can't join that game room for that day, but can join again the next day.
> There would a few rooms of each kind, depending on its popularity. For example, 5 Hero Mode Merida rooms, 3 S&D Castle rooms. This could be flexible.
> Everything would be the same except for the staring mechanism. If a player remains in the room for too long, he would be kicked, but can still return, like in regular rooms.
> To start a room, there would need to be enough players on both sides, like a regular room. But there would be no host. Instead, after each round, there would be a regroup period, say 30 second, and it would start at the end of that time if there are enough players. If not, there would be a 20 second count down, then if not, a 10 second count down, and all count downs after that are going to be 10 seconds.
> only the players who clicked ready will join the game.
> players can kick other players in game as usual, but can also vote to kick a player after the match. This would be during the view final score period, when the player in question can not escape. Players can choose one other person to kick or choose none, and if 34% of the other players chooses someone, he will be kicked.
> An abandoned server can be converted into permanent rooms, such as Delta Server or Foxtrot. Or there could be one channel in each server dedicated to permanent rooms, or a few permanent rooms could be dotted in each channel. In all, only about 10% of the traffic will be permanent, so still plenty of space to make regular rooms.
> these rooms can not be locked or have a password.
PROS:
> No bad room hosts who don't start the game for 5 minutes.
> hosts won't change the mode right before starting.
> It would be easier searching for a room you want to play in.
> There would be less hackers in these rooms because they can't enter it for the whole day, where as most regular rooms might last two games.
> No passwords means less farmers.
> Can be easily monitored by mods.
CONS:
> Players might just ignore these rooms because they don't make finding rooms that much easier.
> There is no host to kick who ever he wants to.
> The starting of a game could catch players off guard.
Feedback is appreciated! But if you are going to say something bad, make sure its constructive criticism! Tell me what and why you think of this! Thank you all.

It feels like this would take away our freedom to make rooms of our own liking. Each channel will not be able to supply the needs/wants of everyone, and when rooms get full people tend to make more rooms of that same type. Doing this would put more modes over others, and again, different people prefer different things. Your pro of "farming" is biased, because it is allowed for others to do freely in this game and many like to do it. The rooms wouldn't be able to change to what is currently "popular" because people will be playing the permanent rooms, which makes said mode more popular than others. Just the flaws I noticed sorry. -

Thank you. But I meant only one server will have permanent rooms, or even one channel. NOT ALL rooms will be permanent. I farm occasionally with my clan, I just won't do it in the permanent rooms. -
A whole server would kill the server even more. If no one hardly plays said server now, why would they play it when they can't choose what they want to play freely? Even with it being one channel, the channel could go dead just as well. We have the freedom to choose our games right now for a reason, so I'd rather not restrict it.

FYI, I don't think the plan is to flood a whole server with permanent rooms, just to stick a few of them here and there. -
OK so less perma rooms. I think that too. Thanks.
And the kick voting thing, you guys are understanding it wrongly. Each player can kick vote any other player at the same time, its not all the player kicking one, so 34% might even be too high. Another things is voting time is when the game is already over, so if you kick, it doesn't affect the game you just played.
Oh and the day I post this, they took down Foxtrot. What an amazing coincidence.
