ok let's use a formula to calculate total effective power:

the total power of spear is power x range

should = power x range of knife


so if knife has 1 power x 1 range = 1 p*r

then spear should have

1 p*r / x range = 1/x * (1 p*r )

so if range is 3 times of knife,

it will be 1 p*r / 3 range = 1/3 knife power (p*r). Or 1 third of the power of knife, for example.


The more range the less power in proportion. But the total power and range is same as the knife.

Only way it would work would be making really slow.

If not it would be to easy to just stay back and keep attacking while running back.

How about a lightsaber weapon that is 1 hit kill with slash/stab. The range is very high since you must be a Jedi to use it.
Also you possess the force while weilding it allowing you to jump as high as in orbital station, and use force push to push people back, or force pull.

Each knife slash does 45 damage.

That's a 3 hit kill.

Each spear slash does half that.

That's a 6 hit kill.

Each knife stab does 90 damage.

That's a 2 hit kill.

Each spear stab does half that.

That's a 4 hit kill.

It would have to be a GP weapon.

hmmm if its use is limited to the orbital station map maybe the dev will consider it. because that will fit in the sci-fi theme.

They can shoot you no matter how far you stay back.

The knife slash actually does 29 OR 45, and the knife stab does 50,59,77, or 90.
