Well, many soldiers under NATO/ISAF's command in Afghanistan are wearing those. They provide good protection against fine particles like sand.

Yeah, I was thinking about this too, maybe they can give a slight EXP boost to make them worth having.

You can also have the choice to use it as a scarf or as a headgear.
