Military Crossbow

First of all I know the chances of this being implemented are very low, however if Z8 were to create one of their own weapons I believe this would be a great choice. It's unique and would be very effective. I used the format created by GodsGunman.

Although this weapon would deal mass amounts of damage (should one have a good shot) the reload rate on this weapon would be a major downfall. One would need to make his/her shot count and also be skilled with a pistol.

Other Details:
-It would be completely silenced, meaning this would be a great stealth gun. However, it would make a little noice on the reload.
-The Camo would be black with red (AK Scope) or some type of Camo.
-It would also be equiped with a scope similar to a Tar/Aug/SG552.
-The weapon weight wouldn't be too heavy, something similar to the FR-F2.

  • A couple pointers:

    If it does a 100 damage headshot at 100 meters, putting that it does 100 damage for a headshot at the other ranges is kind of pointless.

    A 5 second reload is just way too long if it only has one shot.

    Where does it stop doing 100 damage to the back/chest, if ever?

    Other then that it's a nice suggestion.

    Good point about the 100 meter headshot, never thought of that.

    Also, I made it 5 seconds because of the mass power of the weapon. I intended that the weapon would have the power of a Barrett 50 Cal in other CF versions (in terms of chest/back), meaning it will do 100 no matter the distance or position of the character (no 78 tanks). If it were (reload time) not 5 seconds I believe this could easily become a overpowered weapon. The lowest the reload rate could be is 4.5 seconds, at least in my opinion.

    -ZP Crate
    -10,000 BP
    -70 or 80 Coupons (Maybe 90?)

    -Crossbow's scope is a Tar/Aug/SG552 scope
    -Crossbow silent

    Faster take out time would make it kinda op , because you can out pull any one with the awm , in 1v1 situation its deadly
    Also it would be very difficult to use if you have to reload every single bolt , how about 3 bolts with a 2.5 sec pause between each shot , and the 5 sec reload stays

    People can call it whatever they want, he probably plays CS:S and in that it's called the AWP.

    Based on your statistics, the Cross Bow's not more powerful than the AWM. The awm will 1 shot kill to anywhere but the legs from any range, whereas with the Cross Bow it doesn't even 1 shot kill at 15 meters with an arm shot.

  • It doesn't fits into crossfire. The crossbow was great in Half Life but it doesn't fits to crossfire. We have many other better weapons.

    Although a gun did come to mind when I started reading this... And it's a completely fantasy gun basically...

    I'd want it more powerful though as I'd like to see this as a useful weapon, not a "fun" gun.

    Also, when I said I wanted the power to be more than the AWM I meant Chest/Back/Head wise. I don't think a bolt to the hand will kill you so thats why I didn't make it a 100 ^^

    Depends on what the community wants. Crossbows these days are very powerful and can easily go through wooden enviroments. However, if we don't want wall bang then I won't include it. :)

    Graphically how to show arrows ?

    Maybe explode-able arrows that disappear after shot and too fast to be seen?
  • But this is an urban military game. Do crossbows really fit in that category.

    But good suggestion anyways.
