"Scripts" for upgrading weapons

I was thinking there could be some type of item called a "Script" which is purchaseable with ZP. This item would allow players to increase their ZP weapon's attributes, such as Speed, Damage, Armor, etc. Below I'll explain a little more on how exactly this item would function.

A script, which is purchaseable as an individual item for about 800 ZP can be used on ANY ZP weapon.

MATHEMATICAL ODDS
75% - Sorry, try again! (Player receives no special attributes, the script has 'failed')
19% - Congratulations! (+5 Armor, +3% Damage, or +2% Speed, one of these are chosen)
4% - Congratulations! (+12 Armor, +8% Damage, or +7% Speed, one of these are chosen)
2% - Sorry, your gun has broken! (Players weapon is broken, regular GP amount required to repair)

A maximum can be set for each possible attribute, as shown below for an example:

Speed - +18%
Armor - +75
Damage - +15%

Please note: if the odds of winning, or the max. attributes seem unfair to you, you can change it to fit your own preference. Don't base your decision of support over the odds I chose, base it on the general idea of the item's existance.

  • Hmm, nice concept, but I don't like the thought of an M16 being Faster, More powerful than my M4-P.

Added Armour will also be a nuisance, we have Head and body that can be stacked already.
  • Not really, it would be good for a game that had custom weps.
  • Sorry man, which magic will give to a weapon more speed and power? This is an FPS, not an RPG with magic sticks.
    I'm sorry but I think that's a bad idea.

Did you ever see bhopping soldiers turning invisible :/

But ya I get what you mean but I guess he just wants to have a more customizable weps option
With the way he mention I don't really see it happening nor do I see it happen that we get customizable weps at all.

I really don't think it will ever happen on the game engine crossfire is running now.
Maybe a new crossfire version on a different game engine and still same gameplay than maybe but if that ever will happen is a question to xD

any ZP WEAPON says something to you?

Anyway.. good idea;) I`s say +1;)
  • I see where you are coming from but naw.. Not a very good idea, especially since most zp guns today have like low recoil.. I would say what you are looking for would be more of weapon add-ons or so that you could customize with
  • no thank you...

this new aspect of cf is taking away from the pure balancing system of the game...

making it more combat arms or call of duty like.

this game is only good old fashion skill (or dumb &#@% hackers)

and i would like to keep it that way...
  • ew. Imagine all the m12s and scarlight's stacked with these.....enchantments? No thanks.

Also, I like that when you see someone's gun you basically know what it's capable of. With this it would be a mystery what any given player's weapon can do.

  • Why does this remind me of MapleStory scrolls?

    Edit:

^This sums up what I wanted to say.
  • why do zp guns need to be even more powerful?
  • When I said speed, I meant the speed of your character. My bad, I had no intention of making it the speed of your weapons shooting rate! Also, I understand the armour would be a nuisance to some of you, but that's why they can be added in small quantities, rather than the ones I created as an example, that way there wont be much effect.

Also, please note that if the weapon is not used, all the attributes from that weapon aren't being used either. You must be using that specific weapon in order to receive the attributes in-game.

One more thing, the reason as to why this is a good idea is that it allows ZP investors to make their guns that much better, (as you can see, only ZP guns can use this "script" item) and allow them to create their ideal gun.

I wouldn't say they are more powerful in the first place, but I would say their strategies are easier to learn than the guns that are GP. This idea would allow players who invest money into ZP frequently to add additional perks to their gun. For example, someone really likes the galil-scope, we all know it's a 'poor', or 'okay' weapon, but if a player were to use scripts on them, then that could make their favorite gun that much better.

You must also realize people will be expected to put money into this in order to actually get a good outcome. Other outcomes for the script could be '-2% damage', or something that will make their gun worse, making it a big gambling game.

Also, I did get the idea from Maplestory, sort of. The idea popped into my head, then I realized Maplestory has a similar system.
  • Whats the best way to break a game and exploit the customers money?

    THIS. Youre a genius.

Youd do well at Activision or EA.

P.S Dont brag about learning HTML and CSS.... thats basic beyond belief

Perhaps they should hire me! Hah!

And sorry, I must look like a jerk with that in my signature, but I'm really excited about learning it because it's pushing me towards my career in web developing. I realize they're the basics, and I'm sure you probably have more experience than me in web developing, but I'm only learning. It's just one of my few hobbies. c:

This would severely break the game...

Fair enough :D Maybe if you were learning stuff like Java and PHP... but HTML and CSS is the basic basics :p
  • Java is next actually, just after I finish the last few chapters of CSS. My sister is lending me her university textbook to learn, and it explains everything really good. Always have wanted to create something on the internet, and anyways, that's how the smart people keep steady incomes in the future, Google Adsense, if they don't screw you over.
  • no they wont do anything like that this isnt even their game its the chinese they wont do anything unless they say to great concept tho:)
  • Well this idea looks pretty risky and unfair.
  • That upgrade thingy reminds me of some shooters I've played with RPG elements.
At the highest level, your weapons are super OP and can mow down enemies easily
