team attack penalty
Hey guys
What really annoys me in Crossfire are those guys who flash their own team mates or kill them with grenades.
We should add some kind of a penalty for those who do it.
I like the penalty system in hl and css.
When a teammate kills you, you have the right to decide what happens to him. When a member kills you the penalties are listed and you can chose one
1. You can just forgive him, so he gets only his -1 point but nothing else happens.
2. You can kill him back, if you chose this he will just die.
3. You can flash him for 5 seconds, he will be flashed for 5 seconds.
4 -50hp, he will lose 50 hp.
something like this. Also when you throw a grenade at your teammate he doesn't gets any damage but you get it. So if you throw a grenade at him and he should lose 20 hp he doesn't loses anything but you do. When you flash a teammate you will lose 10 hp. Cod4 and mw2 had a similar system.
It worked pretty good in those games and I am sure they will work good in cf too.

I think it's not wise to punish someone just because of an accident. And anyway -50HP is a bit too much.
It's not always accidental, some do it on purpose. So you make your own team loosing ?
That will teach them to play better, if they get killed once or twice they will be more careful. -

No, most of the time team kills are accidental. How can you expect someone to learn when it was an accident?
And your "punishements" will only help the other team.
Sportsmanship is dead. You can't teach them, dude. 'less skilled players' will always be 'less skilled players'
People change over time and they get better as they play more.
If what you said was true then we would ALL be less skilled players. -

They have to be more careful. Most of the accidents in traffic don't happen on purpose too, should we all just forgive them then?
Also you have still have the option to just forgive the guy who killed you. -
No. Because team nading your idiot teammates is all part of the fun.
"You like flashing me eh, teammate? Ok, I'm saving all my nades for you this match. Idiot."
Besides a team nade does a maximum 20 hp. If you get naded by your own teammate you were almost dead anyway. Get over it. I get team naded all the time. Big deal... -

Except during car accidents you have to be watching the road, but while playing CF how are you supposed to know when somoene is behind a wall or somewhere you can't see?
Also, let's be honest, how many people do you think will just forgive someone? -

Then just don't throw it, like you wouldn't don't in real life.
Also some games have friendly fire, in those you do not just throw grenades too. Also, let's be honest, how many people do you think will just forgive someone?
Many people do that. I do when I think it was an accident, or I feel good. -
Another case of punishing the innocent along with the guilty, ey, BadMonkey?
Have you ever seen how many grenades fly back and forth on these small maps like Egypt and Ship? You know how easy it is to kill a team mate who's already low on HP on those maps? I've got 37 team kills, and I rarely use my grenades.
Its annoying, yes. But not always intentional. Heck, most of the times its not. Again, no use for such a penalty system, for it does more harm than good. -

Agreed.
But most of my team kills were intentional.
Was back when the most common hack at the time caused instant death to the hacker if any special grenade went of next to them. I'd team nade my entire team at the start of the round to weed out hackers early. Was quite fun and felt good to get back at hackers.
(59 of my 67 team kills were because of this, Honor dropped from very good to very bad in 1 week) -

How is the player that killed his teammate innocent? He might do it accidentally, but even then he would be guilty because he has to watch his moves.
Counter Strike, Half Life, Unreal Tournament, Quake, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Call Of Duty, have you ever heard of those games? They all have the team killer punishment. Do you think the developers of those games are stupid?Have you ever seen how many grenades fly back and forth on these small maps like Egypt and Ship? On those small maps you have to be more careful. You can't just throw a grenade and say "well f* it, let's see if I am lucky today.". The teammate that has been killed didn't deserve to die and he should have a chance for his revenge. And it is not only about the grenades, but also team flashing. Its annoying, yes. I'm sure we are better with the system then without.
