wth?!?!?!client corrupting data???

reinstalling as we speak...I received this new laptop from a family friend in exchange for me designing his website i haven't played this game in months and deciding to start again i tried to download it. after HGW right when it starts to open the login page i get "ERROR client corrupting data detected, closing client what do i do?" Is this because it has macros and i should disable my firewall or what i'm generally good with computers but this is ******ed help plox!

Having the same problem but it just started. downloading direct x see fi that works.
