Field of View (FoV) option. Community opinion wanted!
Hello! Forum users and game devs, in this post I would like to provide my opinions on the FoV on Crossfire. Being a player of many other games (mostly FPS), I have had a great deal of experience with the genre. I can tell you right now that a field of view slider changes the dynamic of a game completely. I would like to show you what field of view can do for you, but first, a bit of background info.
Background Info
Field of view, in simple terms is how much you can see. In real life, us humans have an almost 180 degree field of view. For PC games it is really a must for there to be a FoV slider. Why? Simple. For console game having a small FoV is not a problem, because the screen is so far away from you, and it takes up very little of your own FoV. However, a computer monitor takes up a much larger portion of your screen. For the population of gamers that have big screen, they want their FoV to be at 90, so it was just as if they were playing the game in real life. At a mere 60 degree's (Crossfire's field of view, as far as I can tell) this game gives you 'tunnel vision', and this causes nausea and dizziness for many people. For people with smaller monitors (such as laptops) it it is not as much of a problem, as the percentage of FoV taken by the screen is smaller, as explained before...
What can FoV do for me? Is changing it considered hacking? That's what it sounds like to me!
Firstly, FoV IS IN NO WAY A HACK, as long as ALL the players have access to change it. For me, having a Field of View slider would encourage me to play CF more, because I wouldn't feel the dizziness that I do now, on a 24" screen. Now, you may ask, what is the difference between a 60 degree FoV and a 90 degree FoV (the limit of the FoV slider for the majority of games)? These few Screenshots shall have it all explained... Screenshots have been taken in the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which actually does not have a FoV slider itself, but I have used an outside program to edit the FoV so i can play without my head throbbing like a volcano.
60 DEGREE FIELD OF VIEW
90 DEGREE FIELD OF VIEW
COMPARISON WITH EXPLANATION BENEATH
AS YOU CAN SEE, in the above picture the difference is blatantly obvious. The Red highlight is the 60 degree, and the green is the 90. The 90 degree FoV is so much more natural, and so much BETTER as a whole.
So, now I have to ask, you, the community, what you think of this. Here are some questions you could consider answering to have a valuable response:
Do you sometimes feel bad (sick) when playing CrossFire?
Do you think its cheating?
Do you think it should be implemented?
What should the limit be on the FoV slider?
Would you use it (also tell us why/why not)?
I hope I have informed you to the best of my ability in this post. Please reply below telling me what you think!

I found this to be very interesting...I hope you don't mind but I copied your post to our clan forums (with your name credited as the poster and author of course) I don't think we can talk about other games and I did not want to lose this post if they close it

Hmm yes, they might close it but I sure hope not. I'm not comparing CF to *The game that shall not be named* I am simply using the screen shots of it to make a point. If a mod/admin does read this, please dot delete it, I just want some community opinions, and my intentions are only to help CF grow, not put it down
Also, thanks for the support, its appreciated -
Sorry forgot to add input
Do you sometimes feel bad (sick) when playing CrossFire? No but other games yes primary monitor is 32"
Do you think its cheating? No I do not
Do you think it should be implemented? Yes would be good
What should the limit be on the FoV slider? Not sure
Would you use it (also tell us why/why not)? Not sure, I would definitely try the different FOV though to see which I liked best
I forgot to say great job -

Thanks... unfortunately it was moved to Suggestions, which gets far less traffic.
