What is Farming?

I see many people talking about farming a rank but what is farming? Please answer me.

Farm is like get a afk people (or not) and start killing it, doing 100 kills to the farmer and 0 kills to the afk people ( or not the victim)
Its used to increase rank easily and earn GP.

Like, I crate a room and the victim join it too.
We start the game.
The victim stays strill at his base, so I will kill him till the match ends.
But He will not kill me.

Not really.
Its about crossfire and he want our support.

I believe that farming is one person using 2 computers with different IGN's logged in on each and then just playing one and killing the other over and over again until you rank up.
You get high K/D as you're not getting killed from an idle player(ie yourself)
On the other hand it might be to do with crops and cows and stuff in the countryside

There are the 2 types of farming.
One kill the other one.
Then the other one kill the one.

Or

The person A (Farmer) and the people B (victim) starts game.
Person B stay at base while the person A is killing him till the match ends.
