Tournament in Works - Rules

Comments

• I guess the thing that immediately jumps out at me is the lack of any pistols other than the Desert Eagle. I know since a lot of tournaments have been using WCG rules, that lots of players have been using colts. I'd say allow the colt, and maybe even the p228.
• there is no reason to use wcg rules or wem for that matter, i believe weapons like the qbz/k2 etc should be used, why do we have to copy other leagues? it's not like those weapons are over powered..
• when will we be able to register? And when will the tournament actually start?
• Why is it that all tournaments exclude the m16?
• That's a nice prize pot... Not sure how that's even possible considering the amount of league players that have been caught cheating :s
• "Cheating
-If a player is found to be cheating and/or using illegal customization in any event that is ran by Frost Gaming, any matches played by the user for the team he/she is on at the time of the detection (not the time of the ban), in addition to any matches played for any other team after the time of the detection, will be overturned."

What is meant here by illegal customization?

I assume, shadows.
• Also, concerning the 25 ping difference rule for server selection:
Consider the following scenarios with two teams and their corresponding ping average per server:

Scenario 1:
TEAM A - 15 ping - ECHO 8
TEAM B - 90 ping - ECHO 8
Here, Δping(1) is 75 units.

Scenario 2:
TEAM A - 90 ping - US SOUTH 8
TEAM B - 75 ping - US SOUTH 8
Δping(2) is 15 units.

Considering Δping(2)<Δping(1) and considering a motion to move servers to US SOUTH 8 is proposed by TEAM B, will the match automatically be played in US SOUTH 8, independently of TEAM A's preference to play the match in ECHO 8?
• As to playing 4v5:
"Forfeit Wins & Loses
• If a team does not have five players in the server "readied up" after 20 minutes from the originally scheduled match time, then the opposing team can force them to play with 4."

Is the team with 5 players "readied up" forced to play the opposite 4 players?
• I haven't played in any event/"league" using moss+video capture so I was wondering how effective they are at preventing cheating.

It can be a good anti-cheat if the admins actually WATCHED the whole recordings. Not just "skimmed through". I've encountered situations where admins would watch the first round and rush to the last round without even really "seeing" what was really going on in the middle.

There will always be cheaters, its just a matter of how much "time" the admins want to spend going through the recordings/moss.

I heard you can simply edit out incriminating frames in an editing program before submitting your in game video. In the same way you can delete incriminating screen shots from your moss folder.

Anything to prevent that tampering?

Not to sound obvious or anything but, wouldn't that cause a skip in the game play? Even if it's only for a second?

Unless he likes flashes the chams on to see where they are for a split second, or however the fck cheats work.

Yeah, I remember KC used to toggle on the heads of people for a second, where it barely showed that he was chamming even when you caught a frame that is toggled on.

Say you're recording at 4 frames per second, skipping one or two frames won't show, especially if the player is not moving or looking at a wall.

That's pretty smart of him, I don't think there's really a way around this unless people record at higher framerates but, not everyone is on a quad core and gtx 560 ya know.

EDIT: unless an admin is willing to watch the video in vegas and checks for any s**** but, that would take forever.
• Point being said, admins/staff will have to seriously "sit down and analyze" any dispute thoroughly. Otherwise people can get away with cutting those frames out. I know many people have gotten away with it in the FG Draft. That is why I don't play it anymore.

That is the ONLY way this method of anti-cheat is good.

Unfortunately, no one likes wasting their time watching a video because of a "dispute".
Especially if there are more than 7 disputes out of 12 teams (random numbers used as an example) at once over the course of say one week.

This. Not sure what the basis is for such a small ruleset.

I'd say bring xm8 back

Good for you.

I say limit guns to SMGs, shotguns, and M700s. That's my valid argument.

Bring it back because it's fun as sht! Furthermore, people would likely tend to spam wood and if they do, you could get a good gank in while they do, adding another element of smarts to the game. There goes my reason, not sure if it's valid but who cares, ITS CROSSFIRE!

I support you completely, only to benefit the Canadian players ... there are servers that are acceptable to all. Nobody can say they have lag on US SOUTH 8

TEAM A - 56 ~ 75 ping - US SOUTH 8
TEAM B - 45 ~ 75 ping - US SOUTH 8

I get 100+ in south. I get 50 in echo, though I live 2 hours from the server.
