Game startup (NOT RESPONDING)!!

Running Windows Vista Basic, I go to start my game, and when the first window pops up I click "start game". After that, a blank screen apears with the top title Crossfire (Not Responding). It takes about 5-8 minutes before the login screen appears. Why does the game "not respond" EVERYTIME? and between games it'll do that, and get stuck there permanantly. I've tried uninstall and reinstall, and i'm running as administrator.... please help

as you may know vista is slow im a vista user but it really doesnt take that long for me to load up .. if your pc is crappy ... open ur taskmanager and start crossfire and set it to High but you have to be fast because it automatically hide its self .. try downloading game booster and other programs that can speed pc up a little bit .. try uninstalling and closing backgrnd app that you dont need to use + try waiting for it longer i think its because its your first time opening the program

Bahumbug, I try to run CF on my vista, it always goes not responding, then from black it goes grey, asking if i want to end program, but thats normal, it starts up soon, but now when it goes grey it actomaticly closes -.-

Ok to reply to you all at once... it's already patched, it's already "reinstalled" and i didnt use a mirror i used the torrents, and downloaded it without an issue. For the others, I shouldn't HAVE to just "be patient" there's a technical error that needs to be dealt with. Someone suggested using "Game Booster" and it works. It's a bandaide if you ask me, and i'm not going to use it forever because that's just dumb to have to get my computer half shut down with a 3rd party program to play this game. I'm hoping they patch this crap soon. Thanks for everyone's input.

Hi, I need help. I also had the problem with the black screen on start up but i only have to wait at max 1 min. But now Avira anti-virus found something in crossfire while it was updating and automatically deleted it. I know the file wasnt actually a threat but now the game wont start. I re-installed crossfire and turned my anti-virus off. But now when i try to open the game it says 'wrong CRC detected' and only has a button that says 'OK' and then crossfire closes! I have tried re-installing it plenty of times and have re-downloaded from a few mirror s and tried the torrent but i still get the same 'wrong crc detected' message!

Can some one please give me some help here?

my buddy had same issue with his vista

he has a Quad core 4 gigs of ram his did the not responding

as for the new patch his crossfire has stopped doing it

Same issue I was having on this vista system I was having. Use gamebooster to end all of your background problems.
