I don't just want it for CF.
If it could handle some newer games it would be very nice. -
hp dv6t has a 30% off coupon and the dv7t has a 450$ coupon.
either choice would be good
google the coupons
Both of those are still a bit over 600.
Currently, I'm looking at the Lenovo G570. I'm also considering the Lenovo Thinkpad T420s (the second link is kinda overpriced).
I'm interested to see what you decide on, considering that I'm looking for something that is essentially what you are looking for. -

use google and search for hp coupons, dell coupons etc...
until you find one right for you. -

1K is a bit out of my range XD
A whole lot bit.
First I have to see if anyone can give me something good(which someone has to)use google and search for hp coupons, dell coupons etc...

400$ Coupons? Wut... -
What kind of games can it handle?
Won't be used for it much, but just wondering.
450 not 400
that laptop on newegg would be able to play mw3 or bf3.
probably around 30-40 fps but it will run smooth.
does on my laptop anyway
mine has:
i7
8 gb ram
GT555m 3 gb -

They look ok, but I would recommend getting a laptop with a dedicated graphcis card, not the intel graphics. Let me look around for you, maybe something better shows up.. -

Hopefully...
I just need decent performance and be able to run some decent game smoothly. -

Hmmm, I looked around, I didn't find any ones with dedicated graphics card in your price range. So I guess you can go with the HP you found earlier.
Here are some A8 processor, they are good for games as well as the I7 with intel graphcis.

Actually I looked again at your HP links, they are starting at 499 but if you get the I7 it will be twice more.
I5 is not as good as A8 3500 by AMD.
So you can get a refurbished HP with A8 3500 AMD process for 450. It is a good deal.
I like Lenovo ones better because of their keyboard is spill resistant.
You can upgrade Lenovo ram to 8 GB yourself, it is pretty easy. -
Just a word of advice.
No Acer's. Ever.
Will keep that in mind XDHmmm, I looked around, I didn't find any ones with dedicated graphics card in your price range. So I guess you can go with the HP you found earlier.

Spill resistance might come in mighty handy.Make sure your laptop has a graphic card with atleast 1gb of dedicated memory, atleast 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, and a decent sized monitor(15.6"+)
What about processor?
How much does processor speed come into play? -
Will keep that in mind XD

quite a bit.
but if you get just an integrated graphics card dont expect more than 50 fps in crossfire depending on the other specs will probably be 30 fps.
dont expect to be able to play anything higher quality(which is about very game) smoothly on integrated graphics. -

Refurbished ones are fine. I bought my previous Dell and current HP desktop refurbished by the MANUFACTURE. Manufacture is the keyword. Don't buy the ones not by manufacture. With manufacture refurbished you have the same warranty, phone support and can return them if u dont like them.
HP, Lenovo, Dell are good. HP is slower but good looking, Dell is faster but noisy and more expensive, Lenovo is really quiet and have good reviews. -

dell is faster?
doesnt it depend on what you put in it? -

Dell is specialized in making performance a priority. They had always beat HP and IBM those brands since the beginning. Michael Dell started Dell by winning PC awards for engineering faster machines with lower price.
Dell and Gateway were the two fast pc makers in the past.
Nowdays Dell has gone down a little, too greedy. Gateway has been bought by Acer. -

So I looked at it again, it looks good for the price.
I will buy this one too if I need a laptop now.
Looks good from a glance.
What can I expect to be able to run? Like games or programs. -

as i posted earlier 30 to 50 fps (maybe hit 60) with integrated graphics in cf on low graphics.
You wont be able to play mw, bf, crysis and so on. -

I actually saw a youtube video before with A8 3500 laptop playing Crysis. I will find it hold on.
A8 3500 is both a CPU and GPU in one. It is quad core plus a GPU. It is as fast as a dedicated Nvidia M550 with less heat and power assumption.
It is the new technology. I7 has intergrated Intel 3000 in it but costs 700 bucks or more. -

700 more? in a laptop?
It cant be that much more. My i7 was reasonably priced.
btw if you scroll down and look at the graphics section on there. it says integrated. -

Will I be able to run games like Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, steams, etc smoothly?
Any non-integrated laps for around that price range?Or would I need more cash?
